  • Water?

    I was reading the thread about the Cucumber Lemon water...and I was wondering, first of all...would that be acceptable for induction? I just wanted to double check, it sounded fine to me but I don't want to mess up.
    Also, if it IS. Would it be okay to change it up a bit and maybe have it just be lemon and a slice or two of orange in it? Instead of the cucumber? (I get bottled water by the gallon and I was thinking that if I could, poking a few slices in the top and just adding a little something to my water since it's so hard for me to drink unless I'm just really hot and dying of thirst) I'm just curious.

    Oranges are not allowed on Induction, so my guess on that would be no. You don't like regular water? I just love water!!
    What would we do without it?

      Thanks - I couldn't remember about oranges for sure. Oh well!

      It's just hard for me to drink so much water, but that probably has a lot to do with me just starting and all I'd think. And I think it's hard also because I've been a Mt. Dew addict, so drinking something with no taste is just hard, ya know? I guess you get so used to drinking something BECAUSE it tastes good or something, that it's hard to stop that mindset or something.

        Too many people get themselves so worked up over water. JUST DRINK IT! It is not this big mental hurdle you have to work thru.

        It is only H2O. Come on.

          You can float a slice of lemon in the water. Lemon juice is limited to 2 tablespoons daily and you'll have to count the carbs.

          Try drinking water different ways. Some people find it more "drinkable" when it's ice cold. Others like it better at room temperature.

          If the water has a funny aftertaste from the chlorination, try drinking it filtered.

          The other thing is you should never "chug" a large amount of water. Take sips. Drinking 1 or 2 tablespoons of water every 5 minutes might be something worth doing too.

            Megs is right - most of the time I use a sports bottle and take a mouthfull every few minutes. It doesnt take long before I need a refill!

            When I am online like now I take a gulp whenever I am waiting for the page to change to go to the next thread or for my message to post.
            Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

              I drink tons of water but it always leaves me feeling loopy. I mean I probably drinkover 100 ounces just at work anyone know why it makes me feel that way? I've always drank alot of it.

                With the oranges, I would be worried that they would cue me into something I was missing and start cravings all over again. When I started I was a huge Diet Dew addict (4 liters a day), the way I finally got over my water was to drink it fast and quick. It's like exercise, it's non-negotiable, but unlike exercise, it doesn't need to last 45 minutes. Just don't get your water intake for the day done in 30 minutes and then think you can drink soda the rest.

                  I too have problems with water! I have ALWAYS hated drinking water! When I was pregnant, I spent so many whole days on IV's dripping fluid into me. lol ... My doctor hated me!!! Anyway ... I have just been MAKING myself drink it. Now, I feel kind of naked without a glass sitting beside me. lol ... if I don't have water beside me, I feel like I'm being bad or something. lol
