  • I Feel Awful!

    I started the induction on Monday weighing 142.5 and today on day five I weigh 134.5. Eight pound loss! I've been eating as I should and drinking lots of water but I just don't feel right. My head is spacey, my heartbeat is slow and I haven't been able to sleep at night. I tried eating some yellow peppers to give me some carbs and that seemed to help for about an hour. Perhaps I'm not eating enough veggie carbs? I took a multivitamin and that seemed to help for a short while. My appetite is totally gone but I am forcing myself to eat so as not to go into starvation mode. Today for breakfast I had Southwestern Eggbeaters with a slice melted cheddar cheese. For lunch a hamburger with cheddar and mushrooms and a whole yellow pepper. My brain needs glucose! Has anyone experienced this on induction?

    Welcome to Atkins and ADBB.
    Welcome to induction flu. It seems to hit different times for different people.
    Do you have the book? Are you following induction as it is supposed to be?

    You should feel much better in a day or 2, your body is just getting used to the new heathier way of eating.

    I will ask though why are you eating eggbeaters? Real eggs are what we should be eating

      Thanks for the reply and the welcome . I do have the book and have been following it to a T except for this morning's Eggbeaters. It was just convenient and tastey! I thought Eggbeaters would be ok since they are only 1 grams of carb and 0 gr sugar. I was feeling awful before I ate the Eggbeaters. Hopefully all of this is just induction "flu". I need to sleep and feel alive when I'm awake!
      8 lbs in 5 days in a lot to lose and I know some of that is water weight so I have been drinking lots of water!

          Hmmm ... I always feel spacey ... lol. But, yeah. I definitely had those feelings last week and .. they have since went away. You should feel better and ... that's awesome that you've lost. Water weight is going so ... soon it'll be FAT that's melting off of ya! Cool!

            You must eat your 3 cups veggies a day. Do you have a fitday account? If not, please give it a try. It will help you keep your ratios correct. 65%fat, 30%protein, and 5% carbs. Drink at least 100oz water a day, and you will feel great soon!
            What would we do without it?
