• First week weigh in!

Hi all,

just did my first weigh in after one week and have been shocked at a loss of 3kg (6.6lbs) & 12 cms (4.7 inches) all over - despite dramas of being on prednisone for an allergic reaction.

I know it is mainly water - but wow. Here's to keeping going!

All the best to my fellow inductees!!

Don't take away from your success by claiming that it is water! It's weight. Period. And now you have that much less of it to carry around

Re: First week weigh in!

catestar, congratulations for sticking to induction for a week.

As a side note - there are no weekly "weigh-ins" with Atkins. That kind of thinking is a leftover from low fat or calorie counting diets that is best left behind you now.

There are no "weigh-ins"...

Atkineers are not scale slaves.

It was suggested that you only weigh every 2 weeks and you attach no significance to that number whatsoever. You can lose entires sizes on Atkins
and never see any scale movement at all.

Keep the tape measure handy. If you do a clean
induction and keep following the Atkins rules, you
will find yourself fitting into smaller sizes in no time.

Re: First week weigh in!

Thanks for all of the encouragement guys....but tell me, why does one suddenly want to "congratulate" oneself with a bar of chocolate for finally losing some weight????/ I resisted - but man, it was hard!!! Old habits and all that - and self sabotaugue is a biggie for me (however you spell it). I feel a bit like I'm walking a tightrope- any minute now I'll slip & it is all over .Any of you guys know what I mean or is it just this nutty southern hemisphere girl?

Anyway, Tabekat, you said " Keep the tape measure handy. If you do a clean
induction and keep following the Atkins rules, you
will find yourself fitting into smaller sizes in no time. "
Thanks for the reminder that ultimately it is size not weight. This is the first time I have made the effort to take measurements so I am hoping to see more results there.

Have a good one!

Re: First week weigh in!

Hey there

Tabekat is right. Atkins is about reducing size, my scale rarely moves but there is a difference when measure with tape, therefore its always handy to have a tape measure. I also am a scale addict, but let me tell you weight flacuate and sometimes the weight may differ during morning and same evening. As suggested best is to weigh yourself every 2 weeks.

Dont give in, i know its hard and tempation everywhere, but once you have past a few days, there will be no urge of having any sugar or carb. in fact you will not even feel hungry once you are in keotis. keep snack suitable for induction like boiled eggs and celery, whenever you feel hungry just grab them.
