  • Menu help

Hi, i have been meaning to read the diet book but i can not find it so ive just had to order a new one and i want to start the 2 weeks introduction by tomorrow and i need some help on what i should eat for the first few days as without the book to read i feel a bit lost even though there are plenty of menus around im a bit unsure at the moment. For tomorrow im thinking of

    breakfast
2 eggs and a piece of bacon

    lunch
chicken with 1-2 cups of salad

    dinnner
steak/burger with 1-2 cups of salad depending on what i had for lunch

    snack
    cheese

i will be drinking alot of water and 1-2 hours of exercise a day, does this seem ok if i followed this for a few days, changing the foods slightly everyday.

    Thanks

Yup, That is what I would be eating for induction. That looks good. Make sure you put regular salad dressing on it that will help with your fat intake. Or you could cook your steak/burger in butter. Fat is your friend on induction.

      Good choices Stevey!!!!

Just because you don't have the book yet, I'd highly recommend to read the stickies at the top of the main forum: you will find a full list of the acceptable food on induction and it will surely help you in choosing your veggies!
      http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=3286
this is a walled size list that you can print out and you will always have your list with you!!!

does this seem ok if i followed this for a few days, changing the foods slightly everyday
Salad is a bit too general: go for the dark green leavy salad for the 2 cup and pick up one higher in cup for the 1 cup (the list is huge and if you are ready to experimenting you will never get bored with the food). Remember to spread the veggies along the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Remember to limit your cheese intake to 3-4oz a day during induction.

Drink a minimum of 64oz of water.

Oh, and while you are waiting for the book to be delivered here's a pretty useful tool.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0060...33#reader-page it's the full sercheable DANDR, by entering a word in the searching box at the top, you can read the whole book online! give it a try

        Re: Menu help

Why don't you get a www.fitday.com account, this will help you keep track of your carbs and percentages. You want 65% fat, 30% protein, and 5% carbs on this way of eating. Also, when you eat carbs and fiber, make sure to subtact the fiber from the carbs for your NET carbs. Oh, and please don't eat low-carb bars, shakes, and candy. They are called 'frankenfoods' here and can cause weight stalls and cravings.
Good luck and keep us posted!!
What would we do without it?
