  • Day 4 and 7lbs gone

    Hello everyone,
    I found this site on my first day & have found it very helpful. I am on day 4 now & I’m down 7 lbs. I can tell a big difference in the way my clothes fit. I am so excited this is working. My only regret is that I didn’t measure myself before I started.
    Started March 27,2006 29 Lb's & 3 sizes GONE!
    Female 5'10"

    SW 260 Size 24 / CW 231Size 18 / GW 160 Size 9

    Hi and welcome.

    It's not too late to measure, so go ahead and do it....Now!

    Just be aware that you might not lose weight every day. So if your loss stops, don't get discouraged. The initial weight loss on any diet is water weight. After the water is gone, you begin to lose fat.

    So, continue exercising, continue eating the Atkins way.

      Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )

        Thanks so much.
        I am having a little trouble with the carb count. It is hard to remember everything at first. I mean the bag/can/box may say 0 carbs but the Atkins carb counter dosen't always agree with that. So I guess I need to make some changes to what I am eating already.

          Go to www.fitday.com and get an account. Measure every single bite you eat, this has been so important for me. It really helps you make sure you eat 65%fat, 30%protein, and 5% carbs. Keep up the good work!!! You rock!!
          What would we do without it?

            Welcome Citsim. Learning to eat the Atkins way does take some practice. Just make sure you are eating plenty of healthy food and never go hungry.

            Be sure to read the 2002 DANDR and also read all the stickys at the top of this forum.

            Stay off the scale and complete 14 days of a clean induction. Do get started with your tape measure.

              If you find a big difference between the packet information and your carb counter book or www.fitday.com make sure you use the carb count from the packet which is what the manufacturer is declaring as true. The other sources may be giving general figures averaging many makes of foods I imagine!

                  7 pounds! GREAT JOB! Welcome and ... Keep GOIN!!!!! How HOT you'll be in about 3 months at the peak of summer wearing a kick-butt summer outfit with sexy SHOES!!! Well, that's MY motivation! I love "sexy shoes" ... lol
                  THIS TIME and for the LAST TIME, I will do this!!

                    Thanks I'm down 10 lbs now. You might find this strange… but I bought a new swimsuit to motivate me. I haven't worn one since 2002 when I was a single digit size & I was able to wear a 2 piece. I have a long way to go to ever do that again but I am trying. I have also started walking on a treadmill & drinking water.
                    I went from drinking reg. soda only to now caffeine free diet & water
