  • Induction: 4 days

Been on the diet for 4 days and have lost 8lbs. Don't know if its from the diet tho? I have been an avid "low fat" / "no food" diet and it has always worked for me. Last few weeks I have cut back on food and done alot of outdoor activity. So not sure if it is the diet or a combo of both. I do have one question: is beef jerky ok for induction. If i read the label right...it's not. I have been eating it all week and out of boredom I read the label. Especaily Terrikai Jerky. Also- been eating chicken breast from Chick fila and I read those ingredients- they are also a NO GO! Lots O' Sugar!!! I am 168 now, was 176 on Sunday. I need 130 and Im golden! its summa time!!

"low fat" / "no food" diet
    have cut back on food

All Atkineers need to get a copy of the ATKINS 2002 DANDR and read it with throughness and care.

Please read the book and read the stickys at the
    top of this forum.

Atkineers do the opposite of low fat, no food diets. We
celebrate nourishing food. We eat in abundance and our bodies reward us for our efforts by releasing its fat stores.

Your body is an engine - it needs fuel.

Your body is your friend - it has served you long and well.

We do not punish our body by denying it food.

Your "engine" cannot release extra fat stores if it doesn't have fuel coming in on a regular basis.

Please post your complete menus. It sounds like you
are trying to starve yourself. I'm very concerned about
your physical and mental well being.

I'm especially concerned about your attitude that living
without food works for you. No offense, but that sounds
very masochistic. Eating healthy food plentifully is the key to a strong and slender body.
Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary. Eckhart Tolle

The no eat diet was the diet I used to do. I started Atkins on Monday. and have followed it to a T. I have lost 10lbs this week alone. But I think I had made some bad choices eating just the chicken breast with bacon from Chick Fila. I used the "fast food" menu's to check out the ingredints (after the fact) and found it had alot of sugars and carbs from processing. I also ate the terriaki Jerky and found the same stuff. But I will stay on it just not eat that stuff. I guess your not a proffessional right out of the gate. But I am so determined to change the diet I used to do to this one. I only have 40lbs more to loose.

Atkins is a diet, that lets you eat, does not let you starve. Atkin lets you eat all the nutrition food and atkins diet is based on eating more fat to loose weight. You should be aiming for 65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carb. Try using Fit-Day http://sl.starware.com/r?u=http%3A%2...aff=inkt&v=155
for your food journal and to help you calculate your percentages.

You might be losing water weight. Are you drinking enough water? Are you eating the vegetables you are supposed to be having everyday? Are you balancing your meals and snacks?

If you cut your caloric intake too quickly, you might gain a few pounds when you start consuming the appropriate amount of food again.
