  • Frakenfoods!!!

    When I first saw that word, I thought I would die laughing...anyhow, what exactly are they? Is it all prepackaged low-carb foods? I'm on my 2nd day of induction(cheat-free) and I just bought some atkins shakes, the box says' their ok for induction. What do you guys think?

    I think...I've been down that road...with the Atkins shake and the Atkins bars and the Carbolite crap. And what I think is...you should return it to the store and get your money and your future happiness back! That stuff sets off cravings like you wouldn't believe...and it's a huge distraction from what you're actually aiming to accomplish. It also is frequently known to create stalls in your weight loss. The best advice I can give you is to TAKE IT BACK!

      Hi FeFe - Welcome. We Atkineers drink water and eat fresh healthy food on a clean induction, no shakes. I recommend you take the frankenshakes back to the store and buy healthy food - vegetables, fish, meat, cheese, and eggs.

      Get yourself a copy of the 2002 DANDR and read it front to back. READ all of the stickys at the top of this forum.
      FRANKENFOODS
      In my mind, the term frankenfoods can be defined by any addictive, artificial, overprocessed junk food that is often completly devoid of nutritional value, and forces our innocent suffering bodies to shunt more and more fat to the ever increasing fat stores because it cannot use it as efficient fuel.

      And yet, even though this gastric abomination cannot nourish our bodies or our spirits, we still cram this disastrous soul destroying muck down out throats.

      Its like putting icing in your gas tank.
      Yeah, it looks pretty but it sure isn't going
      to help your engine go anywhere.

      So our engines get glutted and bogged down with this
      fraudulant wad of twaddle and the scale goes up and up.
      Until we get serious about our Atkins and find our freedom.

      Included on my list of frankenfoods would be french fries, pastries, chips, bread, flour, cereal, sugar, pasta, candy, ice cream, soda and caffeine.

      Also included on this list would be anything manufactured in a lab that advertises itself as a low carb food, and especially the Atkins products,
      the shakes and the bars, because the company that runs Atkins has completely disregarded Dr. Atkins published works since his death.

      Alll my former frankenfoods have been happily replaced by Dr. Atkins "make a dream cometrue" foods -
      water
      Vegetables

      Fish
      Eggs,
      Cheese
      and
      Meat.

      Our bodies know what to do with healthy food.
      It gleefully uses this food to keep the engine
      purring. And once it realizes the healthy food
      is going to keep being provided for the engine,
      it will get rid of those extra fat stores laying
      around.

      No anguish, no guilt, no starving, no binging, no shame. A blissfully full stomach and a fuller wallet too!

        The shakes, bars and other low carb products are practically guarenteed to give you unsucessful results on Atkins. You won't lose much weight, get discouraged and tell people how you tried Atkins but it didn't work for you. If you want a quick breakfast, pop some bacon in the microwave when you're getting ready for work or make ham and cream cheese roll ups the night before.

          I totally agree with everyone else who as posted. Get your money back and buy a nice big juicy steak!

            Keep this in mind: Shop the perimeter of the grocery store. All of the veggies, meat, cheese, eggs, etc. are usually around the perimeter of the grocery store. I rarely actually go down an aisle to get something. (Except maybe an occaisional jar of mayo or sauce.)
            A long time ago, I went from 317 to 234.
            Today, I'm starting over again...

              WOW...I guess that answered my question...No more frankenshakes for me. I'm off to the store now for more cheese, meats and more natural foods.

                Good for you!! You are worth eating the best foods and giving yourself the best shot to be thin and healthy. We are all here for you!! I can't wait to see how you do after your 2 weeks!
