  • 14 day results!

Well, 14 days are done now. I'm 13 pounds smaller, which is wonderful. I had hoped to be even less, but beggers can't be choosers! Considering I haven't been allowed to exercise for the past 6 days due to surgery, I think I'm doing pretty well. No cheating throughout, except on the day of surgery, since RN told me I needed to eat a cracker to calm my stomach after surgery. This is ten times harder than I remembered, and frankly, feels awful. It is beyond difficult since you cannot go to someone's house for a dinner because if what they are serving isn't ok, what do you eat? I have run into that problem at least 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Nevertheless, I'm sticking to induction a bit longer in hopes of losing some of this weight. I feel I'm more upset having all this extra weight than I am about the diet. Does the induction feel better after time? Anyway, thanks for all the support, I know I wouldn't have done it without this board!

weigh to go congrats on your loss.
Learn this failing to plan is planning to fail!
now plan those dinners. call your hosts and ask what they are serving. if you can ahead you should be able to either offer to bring something for everybody to share that you can have ( very few hostesses turn dowen free food), bring a palte just for you if they do, eat a head of time so you are not tempted or a number of other steps you can take like don't go to avoid having to eat foods you shouldn't have. when you are invited for a meal share the love and friendship of the people and don't worry about what anybody will think cause you didn't eat the fancy dessetr since you called ahead you several days if not weeks in advance you know the hosts knew you were not going to eat it and don't think you are rude.
Oh a a word of advice if you do discuss your new Atkins plan be very specific about what you can and can't have or you will get some sugar free foods that you shouldn't have neither.

It gets easier, but I moved on to OWL (on-going weight loss) after 3 weeks on Induction. I love the extra food choices, and I am still losing weight. Its something to think about if you are finding Induction too restrictive.
Oh, and FANTASTIC job on Induction!!!
What would we do without it?

          Mini-goal- 149 by June 1st. I can do it!!!

Started this WOL on Feb. 13, 2006.

Congratulations on your weight loss and keep going.

Its been my experience that people are delighted to support us in matters of that pertain to our health as long as we are upfront and firm about it.

I'm guessing that your friends and family long for your company, not the opportunity to cram your mouth with fattening foods.

Whats so hard about bringing some meat and veggies? Make a little plate and take it. Who would be offended at that?

This is ten times harder than I remembered, and frankly, feels awful

What we affirm becomes true for us. How about "this is easier than I remembered and feels wonderful?" How we speak to ourselves is a key to longterm success.

I know for myself what really felt awful was knowing the scale was creeping up year and year and I couldn't stop binging. I thank my lucky stars I found Atkins.
