Does anyone know where I can buy these? I haven't the slightest idea where to look and the book doesn't seem to sat anything about it, other than the fact that they're relatively inexpensive.

Lipostix or ketostix can be found at the drugstore. Just ask the pharmacist as they keep them behind the counter (I don't know why). But you really, really don't need them. They are just an extra expense. Your scale and your tape measure will tell you how you are doing.Female, 46yrs, 5'3"

I got my last bottle at Walmart. They were out on the shelfin the pharmacy area. The bottle contains 100 sticks and they were under $10.00. Been a couple of months since I bought the last bottle but I think I paid like $6.00. Forgot to buy some more yesterday when I was at Walmart, otherwise I could tell you the exact amount.

I've seen 2 kinds - 1 just for ketones, the other has a 2nd tab at the other end of the stick to test for sugar. Last time I bought the 2nd variety about 4 years ago, $15 - ish, (they were out of the other), and to help with shelf-life I take 15 or so out (quickly) at a time & put into another container, and keep the remainer sealed in the fridge for (infrequent) use.~Susan

I buy ketosticks at CVS or Walgreens - behind the pharmacy counter - 100 for $15 or so - but then I take a pair of sterilized sissors (crazy .. I know)
and cut them in half lenghtwise - that way I get 200 for $15 - but I usually test several times a day - mainly for motivation! So whatever works for you - you can start with just a small box of 50 to see what they do for you!

I never buy them, they aren't a true test of being in Ketosis, they just measure if you are burning fat, but it can't tell if its fat from what you eat, or fat from your body. I have lost 20 pounds and never tried them. Save the money and buy a nice, big juicy steak!!
By the way, this is not meant to make anyone who used them angry, its just my opinion.
What would we do without it?

Tomorrow will be day seven and I have lost 7 pounds. I hear how everyones sticks have been purple, mine has never changed past pink. Does that mean I'm not truly in ketosis?

Personally, I think buying the stix is a waste of time and money. If you are eating clean, you will go into ketosis and you don't need the stix to prove it. Also, the stix can malfunction.
Just eat clean, drink water, exercise and your own body will respond with pleasure and joy.Comment
