  • Water??

    Hi, I'm going to be starting induction Tues and had a question about water - I hate plain water, are the flavoured waters allowed? They are carb free and calorie free.

    Thanks for any help!

    No! Water = water, not flavoured water, not tea, water. Some people add a slice of cucumber to flavour it slightly or figure out at which temperature at which they most prefer it.

    Me, I think tough love is the best approach for this situation: it's water, just drink it already!

      I agree!! You will love water, it is so much better for you than pop and junk. Flavored water would have to count towards your daily sweetener allowance, not towards your water. Its not worth it. I never drink anything but water, and I can't stand the thought of drinking that sweetened stuff, yuck!!!!
      What would we do without it?

            you can not hate water any more you have to get that "hate' out of your mind ...it is like air you have to breath air to live and water is the same you have to drink it to live and thrive ...

            use a straw ....and remember if you can not wash a beautiful sweater in it ..it is not water....

            if your tap water tastes bad then try to find a bottled plain water you like..whatever ..water is not negotiable you have to drink it period

              Hi,

              I drink fizzy water - nothing added just bubbles!! (ie. pellegrino or perrier) Then I throw an ice cube into it to make it look more fun!!! I find it tastes a bit better than still water, especially on a night out - yet at the moment I've a glass of still on my desk, and I'm loving it!!

              I try to drink at least 2 glasses in the morning when I first get into work (my glasses are big - so I only need a minimum of 3 to reach the daily limit!!) I've actually cut out coffee altogether, so I can use my splenda quota in the evening on my rhubarb or cream cheese & cocoa!! mmmm

                Try drinking the water different ways. Some people (me included) like water to be ice cold. Others like it more at room temperature.

                If you are drinking tap water and your municipal water supply tastes bad (like mine), try using a filter pitcher to get rid of the excess chlorine.

                Just remember the only thing that counts towards the "daily water amount" is water--tap, filtered, mineral or spring.

                  Hi there and welcome aboard, I just wanted to let you know I also hated plain water. The only water I would drink before this was the berry or raspberry flavored. My everyday drink was Diet Coke but now that taste too sweet to me. Then when I first started this diet I was buying bottled water, that got old fast! SO I went out and got a Pur faucet mount ( http://purwater.com/products/faucet.shtml ) from Walmart for less then $30.00.
                  I learned fast that the only way I could drink as much water as I was suppose to be drinking was if I drink a little cooler them room temp. Like cold from the tap. Now I can drink it hot, room temp. or with lots of ice. It's just trial and error. Know that you will make mistakes, we all have, just make sure that you learn from them and jump right back on track. Know that you have chosen a wonderful place for support and if you have any questions, someone is aways here to help with an answer. I couldn't have done this diet without them. BEST OF LUCK 2 U

                    Thanks to you all for your support in answering my water question! I started induction Mon am and as of Fri am I have lost 4 lbs! I can't beleive it! I still don't enjoy the water drinking (adding some Perrier helps - thanks Jane) but with these results I'll struggle on!

                        I also hated water when I started, all I use to drink was Mt Dew. Now that I have kicked the pop and rely on the water I am great. I love water now, can't get enough of it.

                          I can only get all my water in if its through a straw or a bottle.
                          I do better with room temp water, very very cold water I tend to drink a lot slower.
                          Plus if i'm at work (and its cold in there) i'm less likely to want to down 30 oz of ice water. It depends on a lot of things. Today it was a beautiful 65 outside, and some grilling out on the porch and ice water was just what the afternoon called for!
