  • Today was meant to be my first day of induction, but...

Had four packets of sweetener instead of three (one saccharin and three Splenda). Had three cups of salad instead of two, in addition to one cup of collard greens. (And no, these were not the only things I ate.) All in all I'm still under 20 carbs for the day.

So what do you guys think? Should I just call tomorrow day one of Induction instead?

Call it Day 1 for yourself, but with the mentality that you'll do a bit better tomorrow. It's better to take minor setbacks in stride and do better the next day than to let those trip ups take up your focus. No real reason not to call it Day 1. Good luck with day 2!

I wouldn't worry... maybe add an extra day at the end... up to you...

I've made misc mistakes here and there (this is my second time around) and as long as they're not TOOOOOOO bad they won't really hurt you. Not an excuse to cheat of course.....

I was sick last week and had some fruit to build back my strength... def worked... but not tooooo much a cheat and ONLY for health reasons.

Call every day day 1. I've had bad days and thought of "starting over" and realized that there really is no starting over. It's a continuous thing. If you cheat or unintentially go outside the lines, take it as a learning experience and go back to the right way. You're doing well, keep at it and you'll be fine. When I began, I got through the first 14 days with no diversion. i decided to stay on induction for convenience and am just now moving onto owl. Like I said, I've slipped up and decided to keep on induction for my own reasons, but don't feel like you have to start over. You've already begun, just keep going.

If we went back to day one each time we made a mistake or poor food chouce some of us would never reach the end of our '14 day induction' and move on up the carb ladder!! LOL

Just count today as day one and enjoy your induction experience!!

Thank you for the encouragement, everyone. This is tough for me. If you guys hadn't said these things, I probably would have just quit. But - today is day 2...
