  • One week, mixed results - But I'm still positive!

One full week. I had a single mini-cheat, where I had a Subway wrap sandwich when I was desperate for a lunch.

8.5lbs down. A really, really good number.

However, all my measurements haven't changed a bit. My clothes fit exactly the same. I have marginally more energy than before.

I'm a little confused, but still upbeat. I have no idea how I lost 8.5 pounds on the scale and have no discernable changes in my body, but that's where I seem to stand.

Lets see how week 2 goes. I'm planning in extending Induction to at least 3 weeks in length. I'm pleased with the 8.5lbs, but so very, very confused.

changes happen so gradually, and you see yourself so often, it's hard to notice...

you made good progress and if you stick with it, you will continue

it will be no time at all until you notice that your clothes start to fit better and people will begin to ask what you are doing

it just takes a little time and a lot of effort, keep it up

Body fat is distributed everywhere in your body. You have fat covering your heart, fat in sheets covering your wrapped around your stomach, liver, etc. So don't be upset if your thighs and upper arms are still flabby--you might be losing the fat where it matters the most to your health.

That's so true. We see ourselves every day in the mirror. Whenever I see a picture of myself is when I can really tell. You're doing great. Keep going!

congrats on your loss. Somewhere you got inches gone just look at 8 boxes of butter to see about how much of you is gone.

What you doing for the exercise part of your Atkins?

FYI you could have skipped the wrap and had just about any sandwich without the bun as induction freindly.

Re: One week, mixed results - But I'm still positive!

I walk 1.5 to 2.5 miles a day, 5 or 6 days a week, at a moderate pace. I'm also doing the April Abs Challenge. I might try and work some lifting in, but I'm pretty packed on time with what I've got right now. Trying to find ways to increase the amount of exercise, but I'm definetly not sitting still.

Like I said, I'm more confused that worried. I'm sure the inches will come off over the next few weeks. The scale numbers are definetly telling me I've lost something - I can hold a full gallon of water and know that much weight is how much I've lost.

            It's a great start!

How about those places we dont usually measure?

I lost from my head and feet fairly quickly!! After a few weeks my hats and shoes were too big!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
