  • Back on Induction...wont be disheartened!!!

    Hi Guys!

Even though I've lost 32lbs now, I am going to be back on Induction for two weeks as I had a TERRIBLE week last week!

I am back on all my water each day, and eating properly, and going to do this to get my head back into gear! I will not be disheartened!

However, I did go for a costume fitting last night for my next show ( I do Am Dram) and everyone at my group commented on how much weight I'd lost, but the costumes (which are my size and a size bigger) didn't fit! I felt horrible and fat all over again!!!

    So here I am!!

Only problem is, nothing for lunch at work except for Tomato and Basil soup....so had a very small cup of that as there is NOTHING else to eat at this God Foresaken place, except Pizza, Sandwiches, Wraps, Chips, Sausage Rolls......ARGH!!!

I will do this 14 days! Only 5lbs til goal and another 5lbs to be trully happy!!! Come on!!!!!

    Love Emzina

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Excellent, I always love to hear that Am Dram is still going! It's such a dying hobby now, people just don't do it as much!

We have 3 weeks til our next show, and then I'm auditioning for a new group to do Me and My Girl!!! I'm vice chairman of my current group, I did my first Pantomime aged 4!!!!

It's very disheartening when costumes don't fit, although they were specifically made for someone else, they were meant to be a size 14!! I've just got back into my size 12's and neither of the 14's fitted me!!! Very Very upset, I was!

Oh well, tomato soup won't help...but I had to eat something and better than bread or pots!

No need for you to do a full 14 days of Induction, especially when you are in the Pre-Maintenance Phase (you are 5 pounds from goal). Since you learned your CCLL during your OWL Phase, you know how many carbs it takes to throw you out of ketosis. If you exceeded your CCLL and are truly out of ketosis, you only need to drop back to Induction level carbs for 2-3 days (to rid your body of whatever glycogen you stored) and get right back in your Pre-Maintenance Phase diet---eating your Pre-Maintenance foods at your Pre-Maintenance CCLL. If you are not out of ketosis, you can either continue eating at your Pre-Maintenance level or you can drop back by 5 or 10 net carbs for a few days, then go back to your Pre-Maintenance level. Whatever you choose, running back to Induction for 14 days is not the way to handle this because you set yourself up for what Dr. Atkins called the "Uses and Abuses of Induction", which can lead to yo-yo type dieting and ultimately a high metabolic resistance to weight loss.

Dr. Atkins said to spend your Pre-Maintenance Phase losing weight slowly--over a period of months--so that you will get used to eating a Maintenance Phase diet and learn to troubleshoot any Maintenance Phase problems.

You might want to post this in the OWL/ Pre-Maintenance Forum too so others in your situation can give you advice.
