I have eaten mushrooms for 2 nights, I put olive oil in a pan, with butter and a little white wine vinegar, sauteed chicken with mushrooms the topped it off with a little lemon pepper and a little melted mozzarella. It was sooooo good!!!!!!! But I was not sure about the mushrooms, are they ok to eat during induction?

Re: are mushrooms ok to eat?
Here's a link to the list of foods we can eat during Induction:
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=6781
When I began this diet, I made copies of that list and copies of the Rules of Induction (http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=6782). One copy I stuck on the door of my refrigerator. Another copy I placed in my purse so I could have it handy whenever I went shopping or went out to eat. And the third copy I stuck in my desk drawer at the office, again, to have it handy if we ordered out or something.

Re: are mushrooms ok to eat?
We get enough iron through the foods we eat: meat and certain vegetables.Originally posted by CgirlNYI read both of them, I have a question- why a multivitamin with no iron? I have a 500 bottle of multi's and they have iron in them, does that mean I should not take them anymore?
So Dr. Atkins didn't want us to become iron overloaded.
Your pre-Atkins blood work will allow you and your doctor to determine if iron is an issue for you. If it is, then you might want to continue taking the multivitamins with iron. If it isn't then, you might want to not use them. When you get your follow-up blood work, those lab results will help you and your doctor to determine if you need to adjust iron and other vitamins/minerals.
