  • Day 15 and I fell off the horse, argh

Hi everyone, newbie here. I was hoping my first post here would be positive, but I'm afraid I have some rather disappointing news.

I just finished the 2-week Induction, and am doing the July 4th Challenge with some friends. I've been doing pretty well, but for some reason, I got possessed when I got home tonight and started eating ice cream after seeing the hubby eat some. I've lost 12.5 lbs. so far (see my July 4th challenge chart below), but now I'm afraid I just sabotaged my diet, and I am really hating myself right now.

Any tips/advice/words of encouragement would be DEEPLY appreciated right now.

    4/10=202.5
    4/15=195.5
    4/18=193.0
4/25= 190 (Not bad, but I really must get my butt to the gym!)
    5/02=
    5/09=
    5/16= (Goal for 5/19 Graduation: 185 lbs.)
    5/23=
    5/30=
    6/06=
    6/13=
    6/20=
    6/27=
7/04= (Goal weight for 7/3 Wedding Anniversary: 175 lbs.)

Don't beat yourself up. Keep on going and remember what this feels like so you don't do it again. I've seen mentioned here by someone (sorry, I can't remember who it is), that nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Good luck to you and keep us updated on your progress.

Drink a lot of water and remember how bad this made you feel. I hope next time will be easier for you. Most important you are back on your WOE now, not tomorrow

Hang in there and remember you have friends here who care about you and are ready to support you!

If you're off of induction and just have to have some ice cream, check out some low-carb ice creams at your local market. They're really good and as long as you stick to the serving size, it'll satisfy any cravings you may have occassionally. Maybe your hubby would even enjoy them with you and support you at the same time )

          Good luck!

2nd Week Induction Goal - Closely monitor water intake, remember to contact doctor for appointment for self and daughter for early March

You lost 12.5 pounds during your 14 Day induction. Run to DANDR 2002 and re-read Chapters 12, 13 and 14. Look up your degree of metabolic resistance in the chart. With your weight loss result, I can say you have low metabolic resistance to weight loss and you can most likely eat more than 20 net carbs a day and lose weight. So staying on Induction to correct your metabolic imbalances doesn't apply to you.

Summer is coming and people will be eating foods that are definitely not on the Induction foods list, like fresh fruit and certain vegetables. Ask yourself if you will be able to stick to the Induction Foods list while everyone around you is eating bowls of fresh berries, peaches, corn on the cob, etc.

Contrary to popular belief, you still lose weight during OWL Phase. And the benefit of OWL is that you will be able to enjoy eating certain foods without the guilt of "cheating" or "falling off the wagon" while you lose weight.

It's ultimately your decision, but take the time to make the best decision for you and your personality.

                          Thanks everyone!

Oh, and I spent some time reading the stickies (boy, there sure are a LOT of them, but they ARE very helpful!) and found out what the acronym stood for. Hehe. It'll take me a while to read the rest, but I think I'm a bit up to speed now. Thanks for the link!
