  • Back with some more queries!

    Hello again!,

our weightloss seems to have stalled, and yes we shouldn't be checking the scales everyday as a pound on here and there can be de-motivating.
we aren't eating anything wrong from what i can tell.

so gross question first : can not going to the toilet-toilet, build up waste and therefore weight? (we are drinking over 2Litres of water a day as well)

    second question : STUPID TABLETS!!!
we've got ourselves some "Atkins Dieters' Advantage" supplements (that are ok for induction), and i got some psyllium husk capsules from a health food store. trouble is the "advantage" tablets are huge! and even i have a problem swallowing them, and i don't mind taking tablets.
The problem is that my girlfriend has real problems taking tablets of anykind unless they're small. anybody got any ideas how we can take them?

    third question : Nitrates?
    Sodium Nitrate to be avoided?

    fourth question : Lactose?
    Should this be avoided too?

thanks in advance for your help

Kolin I can't remember from your other posts what stage your are in the diet...if its induction and in the 3-4th weeks it is VERY common for people to pause in their weight loss. There are some threads about Post Induction Stall Syndrome (P.I.S.S.) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...stall+syndrome Basically its a time where your body is adjusting to the initial weight loss. Just stick with it, the weight loss will come again. I paused for two weeks with no changes on the scale. Are you guys measuring? If not, start measuring now. There are going to be times when the scales just don't move....but you will see visible changes in your clothes and on the tape measure.

Re: Back with some more queries!

A weight loss plateau, or "stall", is defined as 4 consecutive weeks without loss of pounds or inches. So your body taking a break for a couple of days isn't anything to worry about. We have a 'sticky thread in this forum about "Weight Loss Isn't Linear"---it's contents are very useful.

Remember too, that pounds loss is not the only indicator nor the best indicator of fat loss. Dr. Atkins wrote that the loss of inches represents fat emptying from our cells. So don't rely solely on the scale.

I'm no big help, but I know that when I use the bathroom and weigh myself afterwards, I weigh less.
