do they have sugar in it normally?

today I bought the cheddar cheese which is claimed to have 0 carb on the nutrition table. Do I still have to limit the amount of its intake? Today is my first day of induction.

Also, what can I eat in Mexico restaruants? and do you guyz have any idea what I should order in places at Subway, Mcdonalds, KFC, Applebee, Wendy's, or Olive Garden? what should I do to make sure the meal that I have there completely compatible to my induction plan?

    Thanks a lot!

also, since the intake limits of cheddar and mozorella cheese are both 3-4 oz per day. Can I have 3 oz of cheddar cheese and the same amount of mozorella cheese at the same day? Or they are just substutable but not compatible on the same day?

No they typically don't have sugar. However, you'll need to read the label and ingredients list to make sure. I've seen many burgers that use soy fillers and have carb counts of 11 grams per burger patty.

Yes. All cheese is limited to 3-4 ounces per day. All cheese, according to Dr. Atkins is to be counted as 1 net carb per 1 ounce.

When you eat out at restaurants, you need to be a pro-active consumer and ask alot of questions about food preparation. There are some restaurants and fast food places that provide nutritional information for their meals. So you need to read that information before you order.

To help make your food choices easier, you really ought to compare the ingredients of those meals with the Induction Acceptable Foods List and with the Rules of Induction.

No. All cheese that you eat is limited to 3-4 ounces daily. So if you want to eat mozzarrella and cheddar, you can only eat 3-4 ounces of them. Not 3 ounces of mozzarrella and 3 ounces of cheddar.

Wendy's is a fave of mine if I have to eat on the run. At a buck a piece, Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger is great. It comes with no ketchup but with mayo. I just pull away bits of the bun as I eat it so i don't get messy fingers. Plus they way they build that burger, the cheese doesn't stick to the bread when you peel it off. They also use real cheese. Their website is awesome. It lets you add and subtract the different toppings and breads to give you a better idea of what carbs you are eating. And you can't beat a 99 cent side salad!

Here is a thread with links to many fast food websites so you can check your options before you go there.

At a mexcian food restaurant order the fajitas and just don't put them on the tortilla. You can eat the meat, onions and peppers, cheese, hot sauce, sour cream and quacamole just not the tortillas. I even like to make these at home with all those fixins.

At Wendy's I get a Texas Double cheese burger and a cesear side salad. It's a great lunch for 2 bucks.

McDonalds you can have a salad, they have a couple that are carb friendly, but I would bring my own dressing since most of the packets of dressing have too many carbs. Same with Jack in the Box they have a great chicken salad but the dressing pack has like 14 carbs.

Applebees I haven't eaten there in a while but most of those type restaurants and Italian restaurants have a chicken cesear salad just ask them to leave off the croutons.

KFC I can't think of a thing. It's all breaded so I would just stear clear of that place.

but what about the seasonings in the patties? There might be some sugar in them right?

Absolutely, but it's probably a trace. Right?

Since I have made Atkins my permanent lifestyle I do not eat in drive-ins at all. I don't miss them, and my budget doesn't miss them. The food is overprocessed carb laden gluck in tiny portions.

If you must eat out, find a buffet like home buffet and enjoy plenty of meat, fish and egg choices. Be full!!!

A clean induction is essential, and learning to cook at home and take food with you is a big component also to making a permanent change.

I believe a big key to my success has been giving up fast food mania.
