  • something about cheese/....

Can anybody tell me how much the volume is for 4 oz of diced cheddar/mozzorella cheese? I need to know how much it is out of one cup so that I can have visual sense on how much to put into my meal...I have no idea about the weight units like oz...

    Hello,

Usually a "brick" of cheese from the grocery store is 8 oz (which is equivilant to 1 cup) .. so 4 oz would be 1/2 c and 2 oz 1/4 c - I usually try to slice my cheese no more than a 1/2 in wide, and generally count that as 1 carb.

    I hope this helps

On induction you should be having no more than 3 oz per day. Just make sure that from here on out you keep it to 3 oz total cheese intake during the induction period...this includes all kinds of cheese, like cream cheese too.
More than that can cause slowed weight loss in some people.

Actually you have made a very common mistake. the brick is in weight ounces not volume ounces. as we can see in the USDA site there is a big difference between 1 cup (8 volume ounces) and 8 weight ounces http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcom...st_nut_edit.pl

if you buy a bag of already diced cheese then look at the unit of weight on the package count the cubes and divid the cubes by the weight total and you will know how many cubes per ounce your package has. if you buy your cheese in a block cut your 8 ounce block in half and in half and half again and you have 8 oune ounce servings. you don't have to cut it exactly perfecy cause if you are over slightly today you will be under slightly tomorrow cause the pieces were exactly even.
