Not really.Originally posted by peachloveJust wanna make sure
Salad dressings are limited. The Acceptable Foods list says that the salad dressing can have no added sugar and be under 2 net carbs per serving.
Also, the nutritional label is only accurate for the serving size. That is, if the serving size is 1 tablespoon, the carb info is relatively accurate. If you use more than that 1 tablespoon, you'll have to start adding up the carbs. The other thing is if you "eyeball" your dressings and sauces, you might be overestimating the serving size.
Butter is limited in the sense that you only use enough for your food. Also, according to the USDA, 1 tablespoon of butter has 0.01 carbs. So, while the amount of carbs is nearly 0, it's not truly a carb-free food.
As Dr. Atkins wrote, you don't have a license to gorge on this diet.~Megs~

Remember to only eat until you are satisfied, not beyond. If you do that and stick to the induction foods, you should be fine. Before and after:

It depends on what the ingredients are. If the ingredients are on the Acceptable Foods list then the food is okay.Originally posted by peachlovethanks, is casear completely ok?~Megs~

Ceasar is a really good choice of salad dressings for low carber as long as the carb per serving is 2 carbs or less. I have found many types that are 1 carb per 2 T. If you are using an appropriate amount and not just pouring it on because its unlimited then it should be fine. If you mean do you need to limit it to 1 T per day like on plans like Weight watcher NO.
Watch labels some companies like to change products or add sugar to things for no apparent reason.Last edited by BeccaResRN; April 27, 2006, 02:07 PM.

Yes - you really do need to read labels on everything before you choose what to buy.
I am always amazed at what foods they feel the need to add sugar or glucose or high fructose corn syrup etc etc to.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
