  • what should I do...

it's my third day of induction, I had eggs for breakfast and fish for lunch, everything went on fine/....untill my boss came and ask me accompany him to a negotiation dinner.....
i had chinese food like dumplings and feel really guilty now!!My boss says there are gonna be two other such kind a dinner events on both Sat and Sun...
    what should I do?
has my induction plan been totally ruined today?
will my weight come back quickly?
if I restart induction on Mon, will it be still as effective as before?
    I'm so frustrated...

    Re: what should I do...

Is there any way you can get the food changed to something more Atkins induction-legal? Some chinese food would be OK - steamed vegetables and meats without starch-thickened sauces for example.
If you could speak to the catering staff and tell them you are not eating things with sugar and starch in them, they could tell you which foods you can eat and stick to plan.

I have found without exception that food suppliers at functions are always happy to help customers stick to their dietary requirements!

After all if you were diabetic or had religious reasons for not eating a particular item of food no-one would expect you to eat it. In fact if your dietary choices were for religious reasons you could probably sue your boss if he made you eat something you were not allowed to!!

Having said that - maybe if you dont feel you can ask for something more 'legal' for induction the easiest thing to do would be to fill up on induction food before attending and then you could honestly say you were not hungry and just 'toy' with whatever food was on your plate.

I assume it is an occasion for doing business rather than enjoying a meal with friends so no-one will worry if you dont eat much food anyway.

As to whether it has 'ruined' your induction - it will only do that if you end up eating more food off-plan and stop doing induction.

So prepare to cope with any cravings those foods might give you by having 'legal' snacks and meals available so you can eat 'legal' every time you feel hungry.

You might see a rise in your scales reading - but we get that anyway from day to day! Which is one reason people suggest you dont weigh daily but wait till the end of your first 14-days on induction to see the difference.

To be frank - you cant really 'restart' your first 14-day induction, as your body will react differently each time you restart, so just count the days as if you didnt 'cheat' and carry on eating to plan.

All that will happen is that any 14-day losses will not be as good a gauge of your metabolic resistance as they would have been if you hadnt eaten off-plan during those 14 days, so your results will not be so easy to match with the chart in DANDR for working out your likely CCLL.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Elizellen gave you some great advice!! My only followup is to try to figure out: why in the heck did you eat off plan?? Only YOU can be accountable for what goes in your mouth, and why were you laying down on the job?

I just saw a link to a site about choosing lowcarb options in a Chinese restaurant.
It might help you minimise the risk!!

A ceasar salad with grilled shrimp or chicken and without croutons is usually always safe. Sometimes I don't want garlic and ask to have oil and vinegar instead of the classic ceasar dressing.

Hey , thank you guyz for your great advice!
I feel really down since a trail of business occasions have totally destroyed my plan...I guess it's just better for me to start over.
Today I feel better. I had omelet and 3/2 cup of vegetable for breakfast and had scrambled eggs with crabmeant for lunch.
For dinner I'm probably having some chicken and a cup of cucumber or tomatos...

I'm not good at cooking at all..but I really need to add some diversity to my food I guess. I have beef, turkey bacon, chicken legs, and the seasonings that I have here are moyo, butter, mozzarella cheese, casear, and salsa, what do you think I can cook with them?

Don't be to hard on yourself. Tomorrow is another day. My husband loves Chinese food and I don't want him to change all his menus so I go and order the steamed chicken with broccoli - no sauce. It's really not that bad.

A surefire way to sabotage yourself is to keep starting and restarting induction. Just stay on plan with the next bite. I have two words for you. "broccolli beef"....

                  Re: what should I do...

I think I have already gained several pounds for eating off-plan...I had chinese desserts , rice, and spring rolls for three days..my waist has gained obviously, also have my legs....I need to loose 30 pounds and 15 was my goal for induction. This is definitely gonna be my last time of restarting induction...and my major concern is whether I'll be able to reach my goal by the end of it. I feel worried now 'cuz my husband is coming back home in a month..we haven't seen each other for entirely seven months and I really hope to give him a surprise. Is it possible that Atkins won't work to me anymore since I restarted it for twice already...I'm afraid that my body has gained some immunity to it so it's no longer effective....

it will still work for you if you stick to the plan. but it may take longer to get into the 'swing of things' so to speak. it's just the way it is, just start eating right now and you'll be on your way.

Why make up theories that limit you? Get back on track and stay away from carbage.

Why pressure yourself needlessly about your husbands return? His big suprise is seeing you, who you are in the moment.

Let all masochistic thinking end. Love yourself and eat healthy.
