    Hi.

you have a 10 pound weight loss goal. So believe it or not, your 1/2 pound loss is right on target.

During the 14 day Induction, we can expect to lose at least 5-10% of the weight we need to lose. So a person with a 10 pound loss goal can expect to lose 1/2 to 1 pound. A person with a 100 pound loss goal can expect to lose 5 to 10 pounds.

So, you're doing fine from that standpoint.

It's up to you. But we had a former Board Admin, Betty, who had a 50 pound weight loss goal and lost nothing during Induction. She moved to OWL and lost her weight in 6 months.

The important thing for you is to decide what your motive is with this diet: if you are using it as a quickie weight loss diet or if you are using it as a long term life style diet.

it is definetily a life style for me, given the fact that diabetes runs big time in my family.
I feel comfortable in induction. I just want to give it a try for 2 more weeks and then move to owl

I know it's hard when you don't see the weight loss. I didn't have as much weight loss as I had hoped in my first 14 days of induction and I also decided to extend the induction period. Now, I'm on my 4th week of induction and I'm really starting to see a difference. It's tough really restricting yourself. I just keep repeating my mantra...It's not what I'm giving up, it's what I'm getting. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a big weight loss when I weigh myself on Friday. BUT, I'm finally starting to see it in my clothes! I can't 'weight' to step on the scale and see!
            Ha ha ha.
            Good luck!
