Carb count of cold medications?

Hello!

I have been struck down with a bad cold! I need some Lemsip as I'm already in my second day off work. Does anyone know the carb count of 1 sachet of Lemsip when mixed with hot water?

Does it not say on the box? It's that hot lemon drink with medicine in it, right? I think it's full of sugar and probably way high carb. Cold tablets would be better in that respect. However, I am still recovering from a killer cold and a week ago I felt so crappy I did have one of those lemon drinks because I just wanted to warm up and feel better. Did I get out of ketosis? You betcha! But I'm back on track now. So the first thing you should do is take care of yourself. You can get back on track when you feel better. I hope you feel better soon.

Yep, I thought sugar! The pack says 2.6g sugar but I wasn't sure it was the whole story. I've eaten next to nothing today anyway because I've been feeling like crap but I think I shall take your advice and look after myself first! I've been taking tablets too, didn't do much, those lemon drinks seem to be the only thing that really sorts me out!

Aren't there Sugar-Free medicines out there now? I forget which brand, maybe Robitussin. Look it up online...or if you're in the store, just look to see if there are sugar-free anywhere.

As for the cold medicine thing. I got sick a couple weeks ago and I went to three stores before finding a Diabetic cough syrup that was Sugar and Alcohol free - it was Robitussin. That was just about all I could find. =/ I wish I could be more help. I couldn't believe the amounts of sugar in cough medicine! I mean, c'mon people? WHY do you need it in there? Sure doesn't help the taste of it.
Anyway. If you could get some Echinachea tea and drink that with maybe a packet of Splenda, that usually totally shortens how long a cold last. I know it whittles my colds down to just a day or two and if you drink it when you feel it coming on, a lot of times you won't even get sick. Just something to consider...
