Anyone feeling this during induction or is it just me?

It helps with getting the water intake but I am wondering if its the tea I have been drinking or perhaps residual effects from a non-Atkins friendly diet immediately preceeding my plan.

Lipolysis/ketosis has a diuretic effect. That's why we need to drink at least 64 ounces of water daily and that's why we should avoid things that have a diuretic effect, like caffeine.

Thank you not2late, I am thinking it's the tea I am drinking that is adding to the issue... although it's labeled as a decaf tea, I know there is always some amount in there.

Tea is a great beverage, but we need to drink lots of plain water. Not coffee or tea. I've been trying to get started back on Atkins for 2 years, and kept drinking several cups of coffee in the morning. Now, I've virtually eliminated the coffee and I've lost 7 lbs in 5 days, but I'm drinking lots of water.
        June Goals
        1. Continue with water
        2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
        3. Continue with videos.
        4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
        5. Build stamina for more walking.

        Goals for May:
        1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
        2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
        3. Post every day.
        4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
        5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

the 30% protein is also a natural diuretic effect too and some of the veggies are natural diuretics so you got lots of fluid out going on.

Keep drinking your water and enjoy your tea after you got all the water in.

          Happy low carbing.

I am thirsty all the time. The only thing I drink is water (4L/just over a gallon a day), I could easily drink another 1L - is this normal?

Thanks 2Big. I have been drinking that amount daily for about four years (had a kidney stone back then and never want one of those again. I haven't had any bloodwork done for about 3 years, (been travelling on a boat), but I will do this.

whenever I have been in ketosis I am haveing to drink at least 8oz glass of water a hour, and at night I keep a water bottle by my bed because I always wake up with a incredible thirst. I am sure its just normal your body needs more water to flush out the fat.
