  • Husbands Birthday -- Help!

Today is my husband's birthday. He loves Pork Divan. Everything in my recipe is induction legal except for the 1 1/2 cups milk and the 2 tablespoons flour. I know that I can substitute half heavy cream and half water for the milk to make the white sauce, but can I use Carb Countdown instead? Will this be induction friendly? I also am wondering if I can use Thicken/Thin Not Starch in place of the flour.
    June Goals
    1. Continue with water
    2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
    3. Continue with videos.
    4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
    5. Build stamina for more walking.

    Goals for May:
    1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
    2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
    3. Post every day.
    4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
    5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

Is he on the diet too? If not, then you can just prepare his normal and yours according to Atkins...I am not sure though about any thickening agents....Just count the carbs in the Carb Countdown if you use it!

What about xanthum gum? That's a good thickener, and Bob's Red Mill makes one that's relatively affordable too.

Hey, pladd. What about a BBQ grill. That way he can help with the cooking. I bought mine a Webber kettle for his B-day and he loved it. Now he can smoke to his heart's content, and we're both happy!
