1st day, disappointed!

  • 1st day, disappointed!

    I just did the fitday for my first day and I thought I did really well but I ended up with 29 carbs. I need to make some changes for tomorrow.
    Start Date: May 8, 2006 - Start Weight: 185
    Goal Weight by September 1st - 150
    Mini Goal by June 1st - 170
    Height: 5'7", 35 years old

    I found it to be very helpful to try to put the food into fitday before i ate it to make sure, until I got more familiar with carb counts.

      Hi! Are you sure that is the net carb count? At the bottom it doesn't subtract your fiber, have to look up to see the fiber count and subtract that for your net carb count.

        At least you found out today

        Tomorrow begins at 0 carbs anyhow so i wouldn't worry about it.

        For the first week i actually put what i was going to eat into fitday before i ate it (read that as plan ahead). That way i knew before hand and could adjust accordingly.

          Hey, knowing is only half the battle. Like Atkin said, make sure you subtract fiber from daily carb total to get your real number for the day. You can always learn from your past mistakes. One day can not derail your losing train especially if you correct your missteps (if you had any).

            ((hugs)) Remember, don't beat yourself up. It's a baby step to making changes in our lives with this WOE.

            Definitly double check the fiber subtraction from your carbs, that's a great suggestion

              Thanks for the support! I am going to do better at planning the day before and I will check on the net carbs as well.

              Even though I may have gone over, this morning I was considerably thinner in my midsection.

                F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )
