Help. Here is my situation.. my husband is about 140lbs and I'm 172 (down 6 in 7 days). He is trying to bulk up and I'm trying to slim down. We both go to the gym and spend anywhere b/w 45 mins to an hour there. He can eat what ever he wants along with my kids but I can't. My problem is that he has OREO'S in the pantry and normally I don't like them and that's why he had choosen them, so that I wouldn't be tempted to have one. Now I'm a stay at home mom and my 12 month old daughter is sick and clingy with a fever. (teeth), so these oreo's r here with me and she loves them so i give her some and they r in my face. I want one so bad and i also have cake icing in the bottom of the fridge that i just want to take a spoon full of. Since this is my 7th day, and these cravings just started, will they last long, can anyone help. I'm tryng to keep busy with house stuff but like i said my daughter loves them and sweets are always in my face.. Thanks Carri

Dont do it.. I just went on a cookie binge and it is soo not worth it.. Have two tablespoons of cream cheese with splenda if you must (taste like frosting off a carrot cake)..

Be strong, we have all been there, please learn from my mistake..

    (((hugs))))

It's times like this that my handy-dandy quote file fulfills it's purpose.

"Challenges can be stepping stones or stumbling blocks. It's just a matter of how you view them. "

"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. sounds like you are an emotional eater and stress is giving you the signals to medicate yourself with oreos. try something more consturctive for your health andweight loss do a video with the teething sickie watching you she will laugh and be entertained watching mommy be goofy andthe music may help her too.

then the stress hormones have been usedup in a healthy manner and you survived. if you still want them get a few and go twist them open and wear them on your worst fat place as you know they will head right there should you eat them just thinking about those cookies stuck on your body should make you laugh and realize how silly it is to give power to a dark circl of carbs.

BTW givingthose cookies to your kid is also conditioningher to medicate pain with sweets. try something else to help her be healthy now and later.

Stay strong! Don't give in....Think about how hard you've probably worked for the last week, is it worth it to give all of that up, and the weight you've lost...for what will be essentially less than a minute of satisfaction while that oreo or frosting is being eaten? No way! Don't do it. Don't let that Oreo control you and win. This is a fight to the death, between you and that food. Don't let something that's just food come out stronger than you.
You can do it!! I know you can.

As far as cravings, give it and while and they'll be gone. I felt the same way as you for the first couple weeks and then one day... *poof* They were gone and I felt so much better!!! I can have something in front of me now (like cookies) and I don't sit there craving it and feeling upset that I'm not eating it. It just takes time. Hang in there!!!

Bumba, in all honesty, if I was tempted beyond what I could bear, I'd throw the oreo's in the sink and hose them down and put them in the trash. No way you'll want to eat them then. Your husband will get over it.

Stay strong!!!! Look at an oreo. not a very attractive thing now is it. Kinda puny. definitly small and surely weak. Dont let it overpower you. If you have to, smash one and tell it that it wont win. smash it and throw it away. You can do this.

Get rid of the things that tempt you. If any other adults want those things they can get them themselves. My bf is big on sour patch kids. I can buy them now and not care, but when I started i told him that i wanted to succeed, and if he wants me to succeed he'll go get the things that he wants if he wants them that bad. i showed him the approved foods and he's been super supportive, sometimes too supportive, lol.

Cravings only last anywhere from 8-14 minutes. Realize this and set your watch. Take a big drink of water and do a little bit of simple exercise--pushups, crunches, etc. When you're done, if you're still hungry, have a little bit of a legal snack.

Also, I really agree with 2big. One of the biggest reasons that I gained weight is my parents always gave me what made me feel better--including foods that I should not have had in quantities that were not appropriate and I ended up confusing food with attention, love, and comfort. It's a really slippery slope.

If your daughter is sick, the LAST thing she needs is carbporn like Oreos! They have transfats and refined sugar and white flour, none of which will help her immune system, and will probably just impair it! Put the Oreos AWAY. Tell your hubby if he wants them so bad, he needs to keep them with him or somewhere you won't find them. Toss the frosting....douse it with Lysol or Mr. Clean or dishwashing detergent, don't even tempt yourself by trying to throw it down the sink. That stuff is just poison, really, it is. TV and our culture tell us that we neeeeeed these things, we DESERVE these things as TREATS, and the companies that make that crap don't give a rat's behind about how big YOUR behind gets, all they care about is getting you addicted so they can make $$$$$$.

Stay STRONG. Be on your OWN SIDE. Nothing tastes as good as being thin and FIT feels.

Do something that makes you feel comforted, take a bubble bath or pet a kitty or hug your daughter or hubby or call a friend or brush your teeth or journal your feelings or go for a walk or do some crunches....anything, ANYTHING that feels good that isn't DESTRUCTIVE!!

You can do it, and you'll be SO PROUD of yourself!
