    Re: soda

Give it some time, and I know you will get used to water. I was the same as you when I started, I hated the stuff. But now I get cravings for water.

Water is the best stuff you can drink, honestly.

        Re: soda

At the risk of sounding boring, I drank water when I went out with my friends when I first started out also.

If you can be the designated driver then no one will raise an eye lid if you are only drinking water.

I guess it just comes down to how much you really want to lose weight. If you want something bad enough then you will do it.

        Good luck in your decision.

            Re: soda

Some people have problems with drinking diet soda due either to the sweeteners used or sodium etc in them.

If you are going to add them to your regime then remember that Dr Atkins said we could have 'up to 3 servings' of sweetener from the approved list of them and count one carb for each, so you do need to count them in your daily carb count along with any sweetened foods you eat.

Oh - and any drinks other than water are not included in your water count but must be extra to your minimum 64 ounces plus 8 ounces extra per 25 pounds you want to lose.

                Re: soda

Try soda water when out.. it'll look like lemonade, won't taste like it though, buts its all about the bubble feeling for me not so much the taste.

                Cheers

I agree with the other posters. Water is so much better for you! Plus it helps you control appetite and cravings. It helps your skin and general well being. Sodas even diet, had a lot of other compounds that aren't just natural. I go for water 100%

Sparkling water with a straw looks plenty like a clear drink
Soda is a diuratic also, so don't forget that reason it's still not good for you
