  • question about eppetite

I feel a little wierd posting a question on here because i have been on and off this diet for a few years and know the jist. but i have been having a real problem with my appetite. i know it's the ketosis working which is great! but i have to force myself to eat and end up getting sick most of the time. i can handle that.... what im worried about is not getting ENOUGH calories. low carb foods are already low in calories and i know that not getting enough calories can stall you. any ideas on some high calorie foods? like i said my stomach has been VERY picky since i started on induction. the high fat foods are worst. or is this really nothing to worry about?

    thanks in advance

I think it tends to even itself up as you go - so some days you will be hungry and others not.
If you are having to force yourself to eat every 6 hours then you must choose foods that give you the most nutrition - so dont have a snack of porkrinds for instance, have some meat/cheese/tomatoes to make sure you are getting some fat, some protein and some carbs when you do eat.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Your body is too smart to let yourself starve. If 1 hardboiled egg is all you can manage to eat for breakfast, that's all you eat. "Forcing" yourself to eat a predetermined amount of food isn't a good eating habit. However, do try to eat your vegetables because they are incredibly important.

When your body feels it needs more food, your appetite will increase to accomodate that need. Trust your natural instincts. When you were a newborn, you only drank the amount of formula or milk you needed. Every day in every pediatrician's office, some parent expresses concern that the baby drinks 2 ounces at one feeding, then 1/2 an ounce at another and 3 ounces at another. And you know that the doctor's advice is? As long as the baby is peeing, poohing and growing, everything is okay.

        LOL
And as long as we are peeing, poohing and shrinking (or at the least not growing) then we are fine too!!
