  • Sorry to be a pain...

    Hey Guys,
Sorry, I know I ask a question about every day, but its nice to know ya'll are here and that I get the answers I need.
My question is that my appetite is almost nil. I can be hungry and sit down to a plate of food and eat not even a quarter of it. Today I sat down to a yummy lunch of avacado, pepperoni "chips", cheese, and egg salad. I didnt eat any of the cheese, and pepperoni, barely a slice of avacado, and MAYBE 1/4 cup of egg salad. This was the first thing I have eaten today, so I should be eating more, I know. I just feel SOO full after a few bites and would be afraid of gagging if I ate more. I worry Im not getting the protein and nutrients I need.
This is truly a unique problem for me.
I thank 2BIG4MYSIZE in advance for her helpful advice...you help so much. Thank you also everyone else that has much needed input.

Ketosis is a natural appetite suppressant. That's why you don't need to use appetite suppressant pills during Atkins.

It's okay if you aren't as hungry as you 'normally' are. Dr. Atkins intended us to eat only the amount that satisfies your hunger. If that amount is 1 hard-boiled egg, so be it. Your body isn't stupid and it won't let you starve. If you use your Atkins and do what Dr. Atkins recommended, you'll re-learn your natural hunger cues and you'll find on some days (or meals) you will be hungrier than others.

The only thing you have to worry about is the 6 hour rule. Dr. Atkins said not to go more than 6 hours without eating something. If you aren't hungry for a meal, you can have a snack that combines protein/fat and carbs.

Try to eat 'a little something' in the morning - even if you dont feel hungry. As Megs said, make sure it has fat/protein and some carbs to keep your intake balanced.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
