  • Water/Drink?

    Hiya
    are u allowed to have home made curries and can u drink orange and apple juice for example or do u have to stick to water?

    Also what can u do about bad breath and also constipation?

    Finally my aunty is joining me on my new found atkins diet she weighs 8stone 10lbs and is not over-weight will it be harder for her to shed about 10lbs? mucho appreciation

    you are safest if you drink plain water....at least 64 oz a day...minimum. No juices are allowed because they often have sugar/fructose/corn syrup added...and even if they are pure/fresh squeezed, the juice of the fruit is where all the natural sugars are. In order to get enough juice to drink, you'd be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over on your limits in On-going Weight loss (fruits are not allowed during induction). The bottom line, stick with the water. You'll find the more you drink, the more your body will start to crave. Just takes a couple of days.

    Bad breath, brush more often, drink lots of water.

    Constipation, eat your minimum 3 cups of vegetables a day...try to eat the ones with the most fiber. Drink lots of water. If you keep your body hydrated with water, then you won't have constipation problems.

    For future reference, when the leg cramps kick in...drink more water. When your muscles are well hydrated, they won't cramp as much.

    Congratulations on getting your aunty to join with you! It may take her longer to shed 10 lbs than it would take a person who is 100 lbs overweight, that's for sure. But it can be done....make sure she drinks her water too.

      I often make curry
      i just cook up my chicken, add in some curry paste (read the ingredient list) and add in a teaspoon of sour cream at the end...

      don't sweat the bad breath... it's a wonderful sig that you're in ketosis, you're off to a great start
