  • focused - tempted

Today is my first day of the induction and I am truly focused BUT my boyfriend bought me a chocolate cake donut, which I absolutely love.

So far, I have not eaten it. Part of me wants to say go ahead and eat it and just start tomorrow.

Could use some words of encouragement!!!

    Re: focused - tempted

first follow Dr Atkins advice and make your BF a member of your Atkins support team. Explain to him you are making a change in your eating habits to get healthier so y'all can grow old together (if he is the long term commitment type that should hook him) and you need his help. Then tell him how you can't at this point control your wants so you need him to remove those doughnuts from the premisises and not bring any more foods of that type home for a while. Explain how you need him to be your biggest cheerleader and defender should others temp you too. ( that appeals to their ego).

Now that that issue is taken care off grab two of those doughnuts and apply them directly to your hips thighs or butt ans skip the eatting part. The image of wearing them there should deter you from grabbing any more and swallowing.

If that doesn't work go destroy the doughnuts in a non edible manner whack them with a hammer run them over with the car grind them up with the garbage disposal any thing that makes them unedible to you add hot sauce pepper dirt whatever. I had a blast destroying a box of cream puffs that followed me home from the store and never at a one oof them.

And just think of the exercise you can get if you taske that box for a walk on the end of a leash strung theough the doughnuts

I have succeeded! I did not eat it. My boyfriend did. We are exercising together too. Thanks for the input!

          Hi Kerry,

Get rid of all the "stuff" you should not and can not have while on Induction. It really makes it a whole lot easier!

          Love ya,

You COULD start over, but will you do the same tomorrow? Or the next day? It is SO easy to say that day after day - you really have to make a resolve and say "I am not starting over". Give the donut away, you can do it!

              Stephanie is right, Kerry!

You can always start over, but then there is another day gone by. You just have to do it. It is only difficult for about the first 4 to 6 days and then after that you get to feeling sooooo much better. And, that's when you realize that all that junk is really terrible for you. Not just b/c it affects your weight but in terms of how it really drags you down and makes you feel terrible.

              Who wants to feel terrible?

Love, your sister. YOU CAN DO THIS!

I like doing that if I'm tempted too - give it to the boyfriend!!!

If he's not there, I cover it in washing up liquid so I can't have it.
