  • What have you noticed so far??

I thought it would be fun to post a thread about the good things you've noticed so far during induction. What you see and feel can be a powerful motivator! Even if you're just two days in and getting tired - that means your body is detoxing, so that is good!

Post how many days you're into induction, and what you've noticed so far.

Me: I am 10 days into induction. I've lost 12 pounds, and I can now take off my jeans without unbuttoning/unzipping them! Yay! I also notice my skin is clearing up like crazy, which I think is also due to the exersize I'm doing. All of that is a good thing! I used to have great skin until I fell off the wagon. I'm glad it is coming back.

    Let's hear yours.

    what a good idea, stephanie!

ok, am on day 7 now - here's how it has gone so far...

Day1: joined forum, still felt like cheating, bit of a grump...
Day 2: so proud of self for not cheating on day 1! Woke up thirsty despite all the water. Did not cave in at mexican restaurant (pat on back!). Bit dizzy, heart palpitations. Keep needing to go to the bathroom in the night...
Day 3: Little light headed - measured self today (yeck!), went and bought ketostrips.
Day 4: Keto strips getting a tad bit pink - hoorah! No dizzyness now, and don't have as much in the way of hunger pangs.
Day 5: Not craving tea anymore. Refused Cadbury's Giant Buttons from fridge. Lots of energy
Day 6: Loads of energy still - ketostrips dark pink now - woo-hoo!
Day 7: Today! Ketostrips rose pink (think it was the yogurt I had last night - is that cheating - it had a net carb count of 9.1 - added fibre and protein?).
Scales show I've lost 7lbs in a week, but measuring tape.... have lost an inch off everywhere except waist where I have lost 4 inches!!!!!! How is that even possible?? Very chuffed and smug!

Had a dream last night where I was eating crisps and dip than suddenly realised I was on Atkins and shouldn't have been eating them - I was sooooo upset in my dream!!

Would be great to see how other peeps are doing

Re: What have you noticed so far??

This is a Fantastic idea!! I just finished my 1st week of induction.

Day 1: Super, became a little cranky towards the evening, but I had a string cheese and went to bed.

Day 2: Had a very hard time getting out of bed...I felt as though I was bordering on a HANGOVER. Day went great as far as eating...More eggs. Keto stix DARKEST PURPLE!!!!

Day3: My first day at work on Atkins. It's amazing that a HOSPITAL CAFETERIA has Low fat (HIGH sugar)selections galore...but Nothing for my WOE. I went to the grocery across the street and Got a 1/4 lb of the tuna salad, Fortunately it was Tuna, mayo, celery and peper...It was YUMMY. I was an unberable CRANK...Miserable.

Day 4: Okay...so I figured out the CRANKY part, my TOM! What a week to start Induction, my BIGGEST Craving, Binging time was alway peri-menstruation. I mean I would CHOW BAGS of Chips and Candy. Ugh.

Day5 & 6: I stuck to the diet, not nearly enough water tho. I am still very tired by 10pm and still groggy at 7am...As soon as my sprained ankle heals up walking may help w/energy levels.(keto's Light Purple)

Day 7 & 8: Went out of town w/Fiance. Had a good dinner of salad, it was a Chopped Cobb salad, w romaine, boiled egg, Grilled chicken, bacon, grape tomatoes and onion. W/vinagrette. Very, Very good.
No Breakfast on Sunday, as I though ordering a Breakfast sandwich and wasting the Bagel/bread would be a sin So I got a Large Decaf Ice coffee w/2 splendas. Lunch was sirloin tips and a Small side ceasar salad sans crouts. Dinner was Baked chicken, buttered green beans and homemade coleslaw-sugarless. (keto's rosy reddish)

I've Lost 3 Pounds...But not quite finished my TOM, so I'll weigh again then.

I feel like Im getting bored with the diet. Eggs, eggs, eggs...But I used to get bored with food before too...too lazy to get original. This forum keeps my keeping on, tho...thanks.

Re: What have you noticed so far??

It's day 23 for me. I haven't lost a lot of weight (9 lbs) to be exact, but my arthritis/achilles tendon problems seem to be better since I've started exercising.
        June Goals
        1. Continue with water
        2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
        3. Continue with videos.
        4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
        5. Build stamina for more walking.

        Goals for May:
        1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
        2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
        3. Post every day.
        4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
        5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

The big thing I noticed right off the bat is my face is not as swollen as it was before. Today I notice I'm having trouble keeping my pants up. LOL Which is cool.

What an interesting thread, Stephanie - thanks for starting it.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
