  • Fast food during induction?

I was wondering if burgers from Burger King or Mcdonalds are good for induction. Obviously i take off the bun, but concerning fillers and all...are there any carbs i dont know about? I looked nutritional facts and they seemed okay. Tell me your opinions thanks!

In a pinch, they'd be okay...but you'd be better off getting something somewhere else. Like say one of the roasted chickens in your grocery store deli.

Like Joy said, in a pinch, as long as you make sure they make it like you want it, they'd do. Just be sure to count the cheese correctly, if they aren't using real american cheese, the processed stuff is higher in carbs.

If you have a Hardee's they have a Low Carb Thickburger that is great and only 5g carbs. It includes lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo, and I think maybe a little ketchup, but I'm not sure about that. Anyway, I know that when I eat one of these, I'm satisfied. If you're really hungry, they have a double thickburger. They double the meat and cheese, but leave the rest the same. Their website doesn't tell how many carbs it has.

Another option is Subway. Any of their sandwiches can be made into a salad, and you can double the meat, add bacon, etc. Just be sure to watch the dressings. Their ranch is low fat, and is loaded with carbs. Ask to see the nutrition info for their dressings, and you should be fine.

Ill warn against the chicken at subway. Its got gunk in it that it shouldnt and I learned that the hardway one afternoon on induction. Major cravings and when I checked the nutritional info.... yeah, not just chicken. The burger at hardees does come with ketchup, I get mine without and save a few carbs there. Joys got the best tip, get real food elswhere if you can, or carry some with. In a pinch, it will work but I wouldnt make it a daily venture.

Dont forget Wendys... you can get a caesar salad with you meal instead of fries!! And if you tell them no bun, they will put your burger in a nice little container...

Popeyes chicken has Naked Chicken. Its expensive but yummy..

Jimmy Johns has low Carb lettuce wraps...

Portillo's has some great Salads! I mean GREAT! and the burgers are wonderful as well..

Oh and dont forget.. When the family or whoever wants to order a pizza, most places will have either hot wings or an antipasto salad!

And stay away from McDonalds.. Im come to realize that they are just evil. The only safe thing is quite possibly the Decaf coffee.. and even that scares me sometimes.

Yep. Wendy's ceasar salad for $1 is a great deal! And they are very good about bunless burgers!

The other day I pulled into WENDY'S, I ordered the Jr bacon burger (no cheese) & tossed the bun. It was yummy, tomato, lettuce (though it's iceburg) Mayo and Mustard. I was helping friend move, driving, ravenous, and it was quite good. I stayed in ketosis and felt good about NOT cheating.

But I certainly realized WHY the Burgers ar 99 cents...the burger was 1/4 of and Inch thick...the BUN was huge. "Where's the beef?"

Ahh.. I always get a triple meal from Wendys.... Otherwise its just not enough.. I get it plain tho, then just put there chili hot sauce on it... love it... With the salad its like a 6 carb meal..

And Ron, thats no fair.. we aint got Mickey D's chicken wings here in the US.. I dunno tho, I prolly wouldnt eat them anyway.. McDonalds is evil and you wont convince me otherwise

I think one of the reasons why this WOL works so well is because we break addictions. Fast food is one of them and we break it by making so much of our own food. I think that eating fast food is OK in a pinch (as others have said) but I wouldn't make it a daily food choice. Also, bunless burgers at McDonalds and Burger King taste nasty, IMO. One attempt made me go *blech*. I would rather eat a salad at those places or go to another fast food place with better tasting food.

Arby's now makes chicken "naturals" - which means it's 100% chicken without all the crap. Which makes me think what the heck was in them before. Anyhoo, The grilled chicken cordon bleu w/o bun is awesome!!! A little messy so I have to use a fork and knife.
