    Hey

    Today I feel weak and grumpy. TOM is here but im kicking him out... I screamed at my fiancee all b/c he told me he loved me (poor thing ), I don't know what else to eat, i am running out of options BUT I AM DETERMINED TO STICK TO ATKINS THIS TIME AROUND. I just need a little support. I haven't had breakfast- had an 8:00 am final this morning, woke up @ 7:46 am , my school is about 30 mins from where i live, i thought i missed it, but by the grace of God I made it to class @ 8:22 am to find out the exam wasnt until 8:30! whew I am all over the place. My head fills light and buzzy. I keep tasting this sweet stuff in my mouth. i feel like a drug addict going through detox <-- yeah , something like him. I need a snack. I am going to get some water, maybe that will help. Well, wish me luck today. I think I will go to be early tonight- i feel really draggy....

    Whew! Lucky for you that exam was for 8:30, hope you aced it. Sounds like you have had a tough morning, hopefully the afternoon will be much better. Don't let it stress you out to the point where you reach for the no-nos. Keep up with your water and have a great day.

      Oh man, you are having a bad day! It sounds like you are going through Induction Flu on top of the TOM and stress from your finals. {hugs} And no time for breakfast on top of it . Why don't you boil up some eggs when you get home and have them in the fridge for emergencies like this? It's easy to grab an egg and go.

        If you do not eat breakfast you will be more likely to cheat, I agree boiled eggs are great busy breakfast!

          Yup Induction FLU I hate Induction flu and that's another reason I never wanna cheat mine lasted forever I'm sure you're won't ( fingers crossed) Just know everything you are feeling right now is NORMAL we have all had different versions it's your bodies way of dealing with detoxification. It will pass if you have a headache have a tylenol, try to take some time for you. Make sure you are drinking lots and lots of fluid to help rid the Ickies Quicker.

            Boiled eggs are a great resource for when you're rushing in the morning. I too, am on day for and I do not feel draggy, just a little down because I have only lost 2 lbs. I snack on cheese, pepperoni (no sugar), cucumbers and a little ranch dressing. For lunch I eat chick, meat or fish and salad. Dinner is chicken, meat or fish with a vegetable. Tonight will be sauteed spinach. For breakfast I cook one egg. If I am late I can eat at work, and I use the boiled eggs for snacks on the weekends or when I don't have time to prepare something.             Hang in there! you're going through sugar withdrawls. It only lasts a few days. If I can kick sugar, anybody can!

              You really want to make sure that you eat. It's a good thing to burn ketones, but burning too much too fast can cause serious health problems. If you aren't eating correctly, that could be what you are doing.

              You mentioned you have a sweet taste in your mouth. That may be one warning sign of ketoacidosis. Others signs of this are pain in your stomach, nausea or vomiting, rapid breathing, fruity smelling breath, blurred vision, and a flushed face.

              If you have any of these things, dr.'s recommend you get yourself to the emergency room asap because too many ketones in the blood can lead to coma or death.

              Make sure you eat. It's really, really important. I hope all is well and you are feeling better.
