  • The "skinny" on Chinese food.

So folks, planning on going out with some friends for Chinese food tonight...what are going to be my options with induction?

I don't recall ever eating Chinese food when I was on induction before, so I'm a bit confused/concerned.

    Thanks!

Steamed veggies and unbreaded meat or seafood w/o the sauces.

Unfortunately there isnt much that can be eaten at chinese restaurants, due to the amount of sugar that is used in sauces.

Indian restaurants offer a lot more opportunities as they are cooked with spices much more than sugar.

I hope this helps a little?

        Dixie-
We went out to a Chinese place last week ( I was outvoted). It was a buffet and the only thing that I could eat was a salad and Wonton soup WITHOUT the wontons. I did dig through them a bit and picked some meat out, but I wasn't 100% about the filling so I just had a nibble. So if you don't want to be starving, eat a little something before you go and enjoy your friends company.

When we do Chinese it is usually one with a Mongolian Grill in it, so I know absolutely what goes in my food. Barring that I would ask for what MoG suggested - steamed or stirfried meat and vegetables without any sauces and beg for some garlic to be thrown in.

Wow never really thought about the Chinese Food issue.....we love chinese food especially my little girl. Hmmm I know our buffet has steamed crab legs on it and peel and eat shrimp....I suppose those would be alright....sometimes they have mussels as well *but I dont eat those*..LOL.
