  • OK, well....

I finished my first 2 weeks ever on Atkins - I'm just a little happy with the results - 4.5 pounds. I thought I would have lost more . I guess I am doing something wrong. In the past couple of days, I've noticed that I've been craving sweets - maybe I am eating too much Splenda? (but the only way I allow myself Splenda is through Crystal Lite, 1, 8oz. glass a day). The first week, I lost 3.5 pounds, and did it totally different that this week - the second week, i was more rigid on myself (and had learned a lot more from the first weel). I read the book (finally) and have taken into consideration all the pointers I have learned from all of my posts, other posts, and the text - but i still feel like I am not doing something right. I'm a little frustrated, but not giving up.... I am going to do another Induction - no more juice - no more anything, but meat and all meat. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Is anyone else, starting today, a new induction and wants to be my "buddy," where we can help eachother?
I will do anything to lose this weight, so all information that can be provided is appreciated....

Congrats on your loss. Did you lose any inches? According to Dr. Atkins, the loss of inches represents the loss of fat.

I'm not sure what kind of juice you are drinking, but all juices, fruit or vegetable, are not allowed during Induction Phase. The exceptions are lemon or lime juice, which are limited to 1 or 2 tablespoons daily.

You might want to post your typical menu in the "Review My Menu" forum for the mods and old-timers to look at.

Also were you exercising? Exercise is as much a part of the Induction phase as is eating no more than 20 net carbs daily.

Have you posted a menu to Review My Menu? The experts here might be able to pinpoint something that isn't quite right.

What do you mean by doing something "different" the second week? If you weren't doing things right during Induction, your weight loss might not be ideal.

One of the purposes of the 2 week Induction is to help determine what your metabolic resistance might be (in addition to getting you into ketosis, curbing cravings, etc.). This is why doing Induction right is so key.

And instead of "meat, meat, meat", change that to "veggies veggies veggies and meat and lots of water."

Post your menu, keep reviewing what you are eating. Use something like Fitday, I found that really helped me in the beginning to better understand percentages, carb counts and more.

      Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
      Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
      Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!

I was drinking Crystal Lite... so it's not necessarily "fruit juice" or anything like that. I was walking 2-3 times a week for about 1 hour. I did review my menu after my first week & any changes that were suggested, i abided by.
I have not measures myself, because it wasnt unitl this weekend, did I read the book. I was planning on doing that today (for the start of my new induction)...... thanks for the response

thanks so much. LIke i said, i did not read the book until this weekend, so i pretty much based my first 2 weeks on what i knew from others (which maybe wasnt a good idea, and what i read on this board (which has been extremely helpful).
In my first week (before i found this board) i was eating nuts (the information on atkins.com said different - you shouldnt eat nuts on induction, but then said "go nuts for nuts" as a convenience snack during induction, so i did eat some, i just limited myself to not even a complete serving size) & had eaten about 5 of the atkins advantage bars -- once i heard, from this board, that the nuts are a no, no, & the bars sometimes cause people to stall, i stopped. I was also eating all veggies in one sitting, which was mentioned to be ealier in my second week, so that was changed. I guess b/c i didnt read the book & just followed ONLY information and advice through the website, i thought i had it right, i guess i didnt. So this time around, i am following it by what the BOOK says & by what everyone on this board says. thanks again.
