  • Induction - day 3 - New book! - Down 2.5lbs too

Goodmorning day 3 and the scales moved down and I woke up feeling good!

Yesterday - day 2 was bad for me. I sauted a can of mushrooms in butter with my hamburger patty and ate the whole can which is 6-8 carbs at once. I craved carbs the rest of the day. I was so "mouth hungry" not body hungry. I got a piece of Romaine lettuce and savored every bite. I'm pretty sure I went over the 20g of carbs allowed, but not by much.

I notice I am very thirsty which is good because it's no problem drinking the water.

Sugar is in everything, even in Lawrys garlic salt and Nature's Seasonings (my two favorite seasonings.)

    -----------ABOUT THE BOOK------------
I'm so glad that I had to go buy the new DANDR (2002) book that says "COMPLETELY UPDATED! The Must-Have NEW Edition" on the cover. It also has a free carb counter inside.

I read the old book years ago and decided the diet wasn't for me. This new book explains things better and addresses and debunks practically everything I've heard people say bad about Atkins.

OMG thats great! I'm on day 9 and have not weighed yet. I'm going to weigh on day 14. I can tell I've lost something by the way my cloths are fitting and my body structure is shifting for the better. So stay tuned for next's Weds. conclusion.

If you're going to go over in carbs, it's better to do it with veggie carbs

Did you count net carbs? That's total carbs - dietary fiber. I think mushrooms have a good about of fiber, so it's possible you didn't go over.

Don't get totally hung up on sugar in everything, especially in things like spices etc. There's trace amounts in mayo too (unless its Duke's). If it's far down on the ingredients list, it's likely there is only a small amount. Pay attention to these things, but try to make an educated guess on how much sugar it actually contains and how much you would be eating.
      Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"
      STAC Restart: 1/05/09
      306/229/135 ~ 5'2" 77 lbs down!

      Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
      Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

      Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
      Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
      Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
Female/Hypothyroidism/Arthritis/Fibromyalgia - If I can lose weight on this, so can you!
