  • I'm floating away!

Today is my first day of a clean induction. I did induction last week and ate sugar free candy and after reading the posts, decided to start a clean induction today. With that, I also set a goal for myself to drink a gallon of water a day. I have never been much of a plain water drinker. I guzzled down the flavored waters no problem. Drinking all this water is kept me in the bathroom all day! I know it is good to drink all the water and it cleanses your body, but I am wondering if your body adjusts after a while and you go to the bathroom less.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Week 1 (6/21-6/27)
    1. Drink at least 1 gallon plain water daily
    2. Try at least 3 new recipes (this will be tough-I always prepare things the same-this will encourage me to try things differently and include foods that are different for me)
    3. Try at least 5 new foods on acceptable foods list (this will also be tough being that I only have a set food list of about 10 things I eat)
    4. Begin exercising by walking everyday.
    5. Take a before picture of myself

    Hi Heidi,

What kind of flavored waters have you been drinking?

I WAS drinking the Walmart carbonated flavored water. Now it is plain water.

Yes, your body will certainly adjust, and if you STICK to plain water, it will adjust sooner. I can drink 160 oz of water a day and pee like a normal person, but as soon as I add a diet pop or coffee, I'm in the bathroom every 10 minutes! Your body can use water, not the others.
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

just remember drinking all that water you are also peeing out your water soluble vits and minerals. Better be taking your suplements. I needed potassium supplements during induction eating because of the lack of potassium rich foods in my food choices. Happy low carbing.

Should I be taking potassium supplements? I am getting less than 20% of my daily allowance of potassium.

              Heidi,
You're doing great! This plan is so easy if you just go by (and go buy) the book! I would be making myself miserable if I made myself drink a gallon of water a day. Dr. Atkins adresses supplements in the book, I can't remember exactly what he says about potassium.
