    Hi everyone,

My name is Tenishia and I am a newbie to Atkins. I purchased the book and thought that I should try it. Today is my 3rd day, and I have lost 4 pounds. I am full and feel great. I would like to know how much weight some of you have lost on induction and how much I can expect to lose.

My weight when I started was 206. I am now down to 202. Short term goal is to weigh in at 175 by July 24. Goal weight of 166 by August 16. Today is June 14. Let me know if you guys think this is too far fetched. Thank you and I will follow up in 2 days with a weigh in.

    Re: Yet2BSexy

Welcome! I'm new too and just finished my first week on Induction 8 pounds gone .

If you read starting on the bottom of page 157 where it says "How to keep it going" Dr. Atkins explains metabolic resistance and how to figure out if you have high, medium, or low resistance from how much you lose on induction. So anyway that'll make it all clear and you'll be able to guess better about how much you can lose.

    Read ya later!

Thanks sweet Sadie. It is nice to know someone is there to help. I hope to lose at least 10 pounds by day 14, so I only have 6 more to go. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks again

        Re: Yet2BSexy

Most people can lose 5-10% of the amount they want to lose in the first 14 days. Some lose more, some lose less. So, if you have 40 lbs to lose, you could reasonably expect to lose 4 lbs during induction. Since you've already lost that, you're already ahead of the game!! Congratulations.

Just have to say Joy. You look great. Today is day 4. Can't wait to weigh in at the end of the week. Not really seeing any results, but I am sticking to the diet immensely. Look forward to hearing from you guys.

Thanks Tenishia. I absolutely LOVE this WOE (way of eating). I eat all kinds of FABULOUS food, I absolutely never feel hungry, the weight is simply FALLING off me. You are going love it too. You'll see results soon enough....you'll probably start feeling the side effects first though. The side effects may not feel too good when you get what we call "induction flu"...it's headache and fatigue where your body is detoxing off the carbs. it'll only last a day or two, as your body transitions from burning carbs to burning the FAT on your body....and once it starts really burning that fat, you'll get a BIG burst of energy and feel so, so good!!

              Re: Yet2BSexy

Thanks for the reply. I just did my ketosis stick and it turned a shade darker than the before. What does this mean? I am trying really hard to drink all of this water, but I am dying for something sweet, or some doritos. But everytime I think I am going to slip, I just look at my little weight sheet, and find motivation there. It is a little sheet that I carry around with me that has the weight loss from week to week that I want. This helps me out a lot!
