Hi my name is Tenishia and I am a newbie to Atkins. Today is day 3 of induction and I am down 4 pounds. My problem is with alcohol. I had a lapse last night when I found out my aunt died. I killed a pint of Cherry 3 Olives vodka. However, I am up and running again today, and hope that this won't stall my weight loss by much. How much have you guys lost on Induction? And how much can I expect to lose? I exercise 20 minutes a day on the treadmill and eat the same thing each day which works for me. 2 Bacon and 2 Eggs for breakfast/Grilled chicken salad for Lunch/ Piece of Beef with Broccoli and butter for dinner/pork rinds for a snack/3 32 oz cups of water per day...Let me know what you think

Re: tenishiakelly's induction questions
Tenishia, that menu sounds fine as long as you are satisfied. If you find yourself getting bored, you may want to look for variety--which I totally encourage. Just being satisfied isn't enough for me, I want my food to be tasty and even decadent. So, I am constantly looking for new (but easy) recipes to cook. I've been having lots of fun trying new stuff, and finding acceptable replacements for foods that I miss.
As far as the booze goes, it's not allowed on induction. But I'm glad you are right back on it. When you drink alcohol, your body will quit burning the fat and only burn the alcohol. It could take you a day or so to get back to ketosis after drinking that much of it.
Good luck!~~Joy

Re: tenishiakelly's induction questions
The first time I was on induction, I lost 17 pounds in 2 weeks. This last time, I lost 14 pounds in two weeks. How much you expect to lose depends on how much you weigh now. If you weight 250 pounds, I would expect you to lose more on induction than someone who weighs 150 pounds. I'm sure someone else can explain that better than I can.
Your menu sounds good as long as you are satified and you are sticking to the allowance on your veggies. The pork rinds are a good snack, in my opinion, but you have to watch you don't eat too much since they are high in sodium.
Good luck to you and let us know how you're doing.

Re: tenishiakelly's induction questions
Sorry about your aunt. That must have been a horrible shock.
Just keep going on your induction and stay away from the scale until day 14.
Weight loss varies on induction, no one is the same.
I lost 13 pounds on a clean induction and the number
on the scale really doesn't matter at all.

Re: tenishiakelly's induction questions
Thank all of you guys for your responses. I have never been on a diet like Atkins where I could post my questions, and concerns to other people and get back such good responses. Today is day 4 and I am going to take your advice and stay away from the scale until day 14. I just joined a gym today, Fitworks and am running out to get "workout gear". I will keep everyone posted. Thanks

Re: tenishiakelly's induction questions
hi tenishia
you mentioned that you're drinking 32oz of water a day... you wanna add a loooooooooot more to that
I'm living proof that the water matters, i decided at first that i didnt wanna drink it, and wasted about a month of diet not losing any weight... as soon as I added the water, it started melting off...
a good easy way to know how much water you wanna be drinking is to take your weight and divide it by half. I weigh 169lbs so I should drink at least 85oz a day.
you're off to a great start, keep it up! soon your old clothes will be falling off...
oh, and dont forget to take pictures and measurements! you'll really regret it later if you dont..
