  • Loss report

    Well, I thought I wouldn't step on the scale until Sunday evening, but I couldn't stop myself this morning - The scale was sitting on the floor just inches from my feet... so I got on - I have lost 7.5 lbs! This has been an awesome journey so far (9 days). Yesterday I had some weak moments... but I didn't cheat - I had some sugar free jello and scooped my husband Ice Cream without licking the spoon. I think that I may be ready to add some exercise to my day - I am going swimming today and will go for a long walk with my daughter tomorrow - she is six and is always up for a walk.

    Congratulations! I'm really glad for your luck. Keep going!
    Drink a lot of water and DON'T cheat with Ice Cream, it's not going to be a good end.

              Congratulations Woooo Hoooo! Isn't losing it GREAT! Good idea eating the sugar free jello - I stocked up Cherry flavored today. Mmmmm!

                  I know... It is so great!

                  I have a mini goal set for myself, I bought this dress a few years back - at L.L. Bean. It was like $4.00 and I loved it. but it has never fit me... I bought it for someday when I loose weight. Right now it is 4 sizes too small, but I am hoping that I might wear it to a wedding that I have to go to in October. I pulled it out and look at it every morning for extra motivation.
                  I WILL FIT INTO THAT DRESS AND WHEN I DO, I WILL LOOK FAB!!

                    Jill, That could have been me posting! I bought a beautiful dress for "Motivation" (Ha ha ha!) and it's still in my closet in plastic (about 4 sizes too small). I think it's a 16 and I'm in a 22- SIGH! Your post made me think about it and you know what, WE WILL DO IT! Now that we've found Atkins!

                    Everyone I tell that I'm on Atkins says they either know someone or they themsleves lost a lot of weight on Atkins. And then they go on to say how they gained it all back! Eeeeeek! WE MUST REMEMBER to NEVER go back to our old ways of eating after we lose the weight. A lot of people have warned me about that and the DANDR does too. (Tangent ramblings!)

                      Smaller clothing is such a motivation! I have a pair of pants from high school that I've hung onto all these years. AND I bought an outfit that I loved in a smaller size so that I had a goal. It's terriffic motivation

                      Sadie, as for putting weight back on...If you return to the eating/lifestyle habits that got you fat in the first place, you WILL put it on again. Bottom line, and that wouldn't matter if you were on Atkins or Weight Watchers or the Cabbage Soup diet. That's why the good Dr. A has the 4 phases, induction to get it started, OWL for losing the weight and adding foods back in to get a balanced diet, Pre-maintenance to transition from losing to maintaining and then finally to Maintenance for the rest of your life.

                      You girls keep it up and you WILL fit into those outfits, and you'll look incredibly HOT in them too! YAY!

                        Okay Jilly, we all expect to see you post a picture of yourself in that dress no later than the end of October. !!!!.
                        What exercise have you chosen to do.
