Beth, you should NOT be hungry. If you are your doing something wrong. What are you eating and how much. Are you drinking your water.

This is my second time around after about a year and a half off. If you feel hungry, eat. I am also on day two, and i remember from last time, it takes a few days to get in the groove and to feel the full effects.By friday or saturday the induction flu shoudl be passed and you will feel a lot better than you have in a long time. at least i sure did.

You're getting some great advice, BethAnn - these people really tend to know what they're talking about.

Give it a few more days... eat when you're hungry and enjoy those induction-legal foods to the max!

        Good luck!

as the others have said, if you are hungry - eat!
But make sure it is something 'legal'!! Maybe you can prepare lots of legal snacks to have ready for those times so you can easily stay on-plan.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

HiBeth. The folks above have it right, if you are hungry EAT!! For your lunches, are you having any meat with your salad? Try addingin some protein like tuna or chicken and see if that helps you.
At what times are you hungry? night/after lunch/after breakfast? You are allowed to snack, heck we encourage it! If you have hunger, feed it. a piece of ham with a lettuce leaf and some mayo all wrapped up, couple pieces pepperoni, cooked chicken, etc etc.

(for your stats, at the top of the page there is a clicky that says "User CP". hit that. Theres an option once you get in there to edit your signature.)

I had a lot of problem with hunger during Induction too. I tried to snack on "good" snacks like celery or pepperoni (watch the sodium). It eventually did pass the longer I was on Induction. I honestly believe it wasn't so much hunger, but carb cravings due to Induction. Drinking extra water helped too.

Nowadays, my "hunger" feeling is different. It no longer has that craving feeling or empty feeling like I did before Atkins. I feel hungry but not ravenous and am full and able to recognize being full alot easier.

                        Beth

Hard boiled eggs are always a great snack. Also, depending on your salad dressing, you can still have a couple tablespoons of mayo (sugar free) sooo..

5 Hard boiled eggs, cut in half
smash up the egg yolks with 2 Tablespoons of Mayo
                        1 Tablespoon of Mustard
1 Teaspoon Paprika (make sure to count the carbs for everything)

you have 10 perfect little snacks, that are very fulfilling and low carb.

Deviled eggs are the best! They also last (covered) for 2 - 3 days if they last that long!

There is absolutely no reason what so ever to be hungry!

Remember...if your hungry....eat! Go Dr. Atkins! What a man!

                        Good Luck,

Hi Beth. I'm on day 5. I had a terrible headache the first 3 days. I learned that this is normal. I was told to drink lots of water and to take a pain reliever such as Motrin. I also increased my snacks (induction friendly of course) and it worked. Now I'm on my 5th day and I feel great. Good luck!

Hi Beth! Welcome aboard! As everyone has already told you, if you are hungry...EAT. The headache and indegestion is what we lovingly call the 'induction flu' and it will pass. The only thing I'd change with your menu is to add some protein with your salad.

I love Scooters suggestion of deviled eggs.

One thing you'll also want to consider is that as we've gained weight is because we've misread our bodies thirst cue for hunger. If you feel hungry and you've already eaten a high fat meal (mayo, salad dressing, etc.) you may want to try drinking a full glass of water and wait 10 minutes. If you still are hungry, go ahead and eat. During induction a slice of ham with cream cheese spread on it and rolled up was my savior.

All these feelings WILL pass and you are going to feel better than you have in a long time. Keep checking in on ADBB for support.
