  • Day 1

    Hi everyone.
I have been lurking for a while and just wanted to post my first day experiance.
Breakfast: bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese
    snack: cheese stick
lunch: salad with bacon oil and vinegar dressing
dinner: steak, broccoli with butter, 1/2 all beef hot dog (1 carb, no sugar in the ingrediance)
snack cheese stick, and 3 olives
    drank 66 oz of water

I noticed that I am not really very hungry. I do have a headache, and that after I after I ate my salad for lunch I started to feel light headed.
the 2 bad things that I did today were: I had sugarless gum and the vinegar on my salad contained sugar in the ingrediance but no carbs. I noticed after I put it on my salad and began to eat it.
My daughter ate m&m's and mac and cheese in front of me and I was fine. I did notice how much I had to stop myself from tasting her food while I was preparing it though. Also, Im craving a baked potatoe.
I think all in all I did ok though. What do you guys think?

    Re: Day 1

Welcome to ADBB! Glad you found us. Congrats on getting through day 1. It gets easier and easier as you go along, believe me. You just have to get through a few days of induction flu and then you get a cool energy surge. Sounds like you're already experiencing the appetite suppression that goes hand in hand with this WOE.

Remember the 'pillars' that support this lifestyle:

    - Low carb
    - Exercise
    - Water
    - Book (DANDR 2002 edition)

Good luck on your journey to slimsville and to better health! Look forward to seeing you around the board.
    Sal

It looks as if you are off to a great start!

Well done you for checking ingredients too!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        Re: Day 1

Thanks so much for the support. I felt like If I introduced myself in the beginning I'd have support when I really need it.
Today was another good day. Almost too hot to eat though. I resisted a lot of temptations and drank my water, plus I'm having shrimp for dinner!
Thanks again for the well wishes.

            Re: Day 1

It is hard to get past those habits we have been building for so long. I agree that it is all too easy to sample what you are cooking!

            Congratulations on your start!
