Re: I feel like a failure
Oh, I feel for you! I lost the same 30 lbs. about 3 times before I finally *got it* and stuck it out. Losing the same weight all over again is no fun, BUT!!
The positive side is, starting out, you KNOW you've done it before and you CAN do it!
It is EXTREMELY important that you take a hard look at what happened along the way to gaining the weight back, and formulate a PLAN to prevent it again.
I am a very emotional person, and I've had to learn a lot of state management skills to keep me OUT of the pantry/fridge/fast-food drive thru when I am angry/lonely/sad/afraid/<--insert miscellaneous emotion here.
It's possible to get caught in the "I lost the weight, now I can go back to the way I used to eat" trap - and you have to learn that this WOE really is a LIFESTYLE change. It is forever. And Ever.
I hope you realize what a terrific thing you are doing for yourself by just being here, trying again, AND asking for help and support!! Give yourself a hug, make your plan, and make it happen! There is an AMAZING amount of support here on the boards, you've definitely come to the right place!

Re: I feel like a failure
P.S. - When you say things like this to yourself, your brain and your body are LISTENING! If you brainwash yourself into believing you are fat and ugly, your mind and body will accomodate. I know, believe me, I KNOW it is hard to say kind things to yourself when you feel like you have failed yourself, but that is when it is the MOST critical to be kind and loving to yourself, and to support yourself and be your own best friend. Imagine the kinds of things you would say to someone you love deeply - and talk to yourself that way. Repeat until beliefOriginally posted by DolphinNow I'm fatter and uglier.

Re: I feel like a failure
welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins
this time carefully build your house of Atkins. LAy a great strong foundation in INduction and don't accept any shoddy workmanship or advice from anybody telling you to take shortcuts. Follow the builkding list and manual (DANDR) carefully to the best of your ability. testing the foods carefully in OWL as you frame the house with those timbers from each rung. Pay attention to the roofing as you apply the rafters in premaintnenance and don't rush the work as it has to be strong as you just experienced when the high carb hurricane hit and destroyed your first house of Atkins.
Make this one a soloid sturdy one to withstand the high carb storms you know are coming and this time you will be playing with the goalies in our forum and not visiting the inductrion forum again. Use your experience from the first time and avoid your problem foods so your house is ready for your to apply the finishing work when you move in at goal.by the book atkinseer

Thank you
I appreciate how you gave me an illustration, I love illustrations with advice!!!!
My question is about OWL, when do I start? How will I know? Before I stayed with Extended Induction and never started OWL. I was so afraid of losing out on my speedy weight loss, but it came to a screeching halt when I got loose with it. Like you said above don't rush the work. Not to mention that I was exercising like a maniac 1.5-2 hours a day.
I can feel success coming and I'm giving myself a year to lose at least 80%.My Stats:
F/35/5'5"
Medium/Mesomorph—Hourglass

Re: I feel like a failure
Welcome to the ADBB Dolphin. Glad you found us. You'll find lots of support and encouragement here. I too lost 70 pounds on Atkins several years ago and gained it all back. It's frustrating, I know...together we can lose this weight and keep it off.
