    Re: I feel sooo bad

Drink lots of water, make sure your next meal is Atkins friendly, be prepared for any cravings that may occur (i.e. get ready to ignore them!) and move on. Two pretzels aren't going to ruin your life. Pick yourself up and keep going as you were before the cheat. Consider it a lesson learned and don't beat yourself up. But make sure you drink lots of water to flush those nasty things out.

I agree with Lady. Make sure your next meal is an Atkins friendly one and pick up where you left off.

It's a good idea for you to figure out what made you eat those pretzels....did you skip lunch or breakfast? did you feel stressed out? etc. Once you've figured out your trigger, try to develop coping skills for the next time a similiar situation arises.

Feeling bad will keep you cheating. Guilt never was enpowering. Lets face it, if guilt was a motivator, none
of us would have a weight issue. I used to bathe and bury myself in guilt and it never helped me lose a single pound.

Get back on induction, and don't go to the mall if the high carb foods are too tempting for you. Or if you have to go, fill up on healthy food before you walk out that door.

Atkins is a complete lifestyle change. I don't go to drive-ins, I don't go to food courts, I don't bake, and I don't use food as a reward or a punishment. Its fuel. End of story.

And guess what? It is entirely possible to live a joyful, happy life without the mall. Your possibilities are limitless.

A little extra working out if a cheat happens again will lessen the impact of the extra carbs and the likelyhood that you will get knocked out of ketosis. These slip-ups do happen quite often in early induction, do don't beat yourself up over it. At least you were smart, and stopped after only 2 pretsels, and resumed induction. It's a process in which, during the course of a few days, your body changes the way it is accustomed to running. Fortunately, the cravings subside as your body gets used to running on fat instead of carbohydrates. The pretzels may have delayed the induction, but should not set you back too far.
