  • Two questions from a new inductee

These are actually for my sister. We are doing this together and she hasn't gotten approved to post, yet.

    She wants to know:

Is there a limit of how much jello you can eat?

Can you eat pork rinds (rhinds?) during the induction phase?

    Thanks!

Re: Two questions from a new inductee

Hi and welcome! You can eat pork rinds during induction, but they are high in sodium so you should try to restrain yourself somewhat. They make a nice crunchy snack, but being on Atkins isn't license to munch endless bags of things just because they are allowed. (Not that you or your sis would do that.)

We are allowed 3 servings of sweetener a day, max. Most s.f. jello is made with aspartame, which can stall people, so look for one made with Splenda. Then stay within the recommended number of sweetener servings. Remember this will include anything you have in your tea/coffee, s.f. gum, jello, etc. 3 isn't a lot so you have to choose wisely. Hope this helps.

Make sure your sister has Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002) as the quantities and choices for induction are listed.

Pork rhinds are really salty, make sure you have water around when you eat them cause they are so dry they'll make you choke..

You can even make your own jello with knox and splenda.
