  • Ketosis without weight loss?

Could it be possible to be in ketosis without loosing weight OR inches? I am working on my last 10 pounds to loose and for 5 days, I have been in ketosis (I am using ketone strips and I can also tell by my energy and lack of hunger), however, I have not lost anything? When I was in ketosis before (a few weeks back I tried the induction and 'fell off the waggon', I was doing the induction for 5 days and showed that I was in ketosis and lost 2 pounds). Thank you for your feedback. Laura

    hi Laura

As you have recently been on induction and have lost weight already I imagine you dont have the stores of water weight that people starting for the first time with much more weight to lose have.

Just carry on with induction then move into OWL to lose the rest of your weight while you add back the OWL foods in the order laid down in DANDR.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

all being in ketosis means is that you are burning fats either dietary or body or both for fuel. you can over eat your Atkins be dark purple on your strips and gain weight.

just remember pounds didn't jump on your body every 5 days and they will not be burned off every 5 days either. stick with your atkins feeding only your hunger and you will become a smaller healthier you.
