I was doing so well then we had company for 4 days....they ate EVERYTHING in sight and I mean everything....I had no chips and dip or cookies or cake or candy....no buns or noodle salad or potatoe salad.... no milk or chocolate milk... yet I gained 3 pounds....the things I did do wrong was the flavored waters made with splenda and coffee.... ..and one corn on the cob...all the while watching them eat everything in sight from the time we got up till we went to bed....I could just sit here and cry....will I be on only 20 carbs and under for the rest of my life in order to lose weight...i see some other members lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks...and others who have soooooooo much more willpower than me and lost so much and said it was sooooo easy for them....am I destined to be a failure? I am so depressed but want to get back on the wagon.....I need some encouragement to start all over again....I dont want to fail....

    Re: Starting all over

You'll be fine! I've been there and done that!!
Simply pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on track...
Even if you have some coffee or corn every once in awhile, it's what you do 99% of the time that makes the difference.
And no, you won't have to eat under 20 carbs for the rest of your life... Eventually you'll move to OWL and then Pre-maintenance... you'll then find out how many carbs your body can tolerate, but until then these trials and tribulations you're dealing with are worth it!
And as Moochie always said (where is Moochie??) "weight loss is not linear"... I rolled my eyes every time I read that but now, after facing my own demons I agree 100%...
You'll get there, just keep strong.
No food is worth being fat and feeing bad about yourself for...
    HUGS!

Adreliluc has already addressed the second part of what I have quoted here, but I wanted to echo the statement that you will NOT have to stay on induction eating for the rest of your life if you follow Atkins through the four stages

I am at the third stage (premaintenance) and can have most foods if I want them in moderation except processed stuff made from white flour and sugar, even potatoes and wholemeal bread and pasta, and I am slowly losing inches still if not weight .

Next time you need to make sure you have lots of yummy 'legal to your Atkins stage' food available for you to eat - so you can be eating cream cheese/ham or smoked salmon rollups, devilled eggs, steak smothered in garlic creamy sauce, roast chicken with the crispy skin on it with brocolli with a knob of butter metlin over it, etc, etc and not begrudge them their carby foods.

Just get back on track and make your next bite of food something 'legal', drink your water, exercise and before long you will be losing!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
