    Net carbs: 3.9 grams
    Cheese allowance: 2
    Sweetener allowance: 1

*Note: Cream cheeses vary in carb count. So be sure to check your packages. Also note that some people add a tablespoon of fiber supplement to their Mock Danish to give it a more "bready" (sturdy) texture. If you do this, you MUST include the the fiber supplement carbs.

No cream cheese w/ a fork - and it's yummy! (I prefer this because cream cheese makes my cravings go wild)

I use the beater w/ cream cheese because I'm afraid of getting a chunk of cream cheese in a bite...
of course I never thought about this very obvious point - the cream cheese would most likely melt and mix in w/ the egg lol... duh!

Loana, you haven't found the ingredient to make it?

btw, I added flaxseed to mine and it gave it this really good nutty taste!

Flaxvseed itself (ground or whole) also contains lignans, which may have antioxidants and omega fatty oils.. here is more.. i am not really an expert on that, but its suppose to be good for u..

adreliluc actually the idea is to leave the cream cheese a little lumpy so it tastes like a cheese danish.

you can whip up your eggs and fold them into your cream chease mix and get a fluffier danish too if you want.

you can store the cooked danish in the frig or freeze for later use. just warm it back up in the microwave and ice if you are using some of your cream cheese splenda mix as icing.

This weekend I went over to Oklahoma City to visit some family, they are all about the Pan Dulce con Cafe every morning like clock work. So I get up early Saturday morning at my aunts house and it's to the grocery store for me, picked up some cream cheese, some flaxseed, some vanilla eggs and other stuff. I get to the house and start cooking up stuff, make my tea and my aunts start dropping by.. "sniffing, um.. what's that?" starting at my freshley cooked Mock Danish! a piece here a bite there from her and from mother and who ever else walks by the table... they are loved it.. so I sat there and talked about Atkins, the Danish for a good hour! Off they go the the store to buy ingredients for the mock Danish.. lol.. they all agreed that this would be a good substitute to their pan dulce..
I thought that was awesome, they picked up something from me! lol

Mexicans traditionally consume all types of bread, I mean really all types and we have all types of crazy names for them...
