  • Day 4 - I'm exhausted!?!

Hi there - I'm 'lurking' in the shadows getting all kinds of good recipes and support from you all! I decided that since this day 4 and I haven't had headaches or cravings or anything - that I'm doing pretty well.

Except - I'm EXHAUSTED! It is 8 pm and I'm ready for bed. Same as last night. Same as the night before...

A little depressing and I'm hoping it's just temporary because everyone talks about how much energy they have!

HELP! Anyone ever have this? Does it go away?

Probably a dumb newbie question -but thanks for your help ahead of time!

Oh yeah - I forgot to say.. I'm drinking LOADS of water... (maybe that middle of the night bathroom trip is contributing to the exhaustion )

    Thanks!

      Hi Kacey ~

I just started last week and was super tired too for the first few days. Then the veil was lifted and i had more energy at the end of that first week. So hang in there ~ it'll happen soon!

        Re: Day 4 - I'm exhausted!?!

It happens - like a car running out of gas putters a bit, so does your body when it is still trying to run on carbohydrates, which your liver and muscles can have reserves of for periods of not eating. When they are gone, your body will switch to a different kind of fuel, fat, and the energy level should pick up. You may also be shedding electrolytes as your system is being flushed, which can lower your blood pressure (making you lethargic) even though you drink tons of water, so replace them.
If you continue to feel zapped, or feel ill, perhaps it isn't the diet.

I'm in the same boat, kacey. Tired and BLAH. But, same as you, no headaches.

How would one go about replacing electrolytes on induction?

            Re: Day 4 - I'm exhausted!?!

Dragon Fly - Thanks for something to look forward too! I can't wait... my butt is dragging all over the place.

The good news is I've lost 5.25 since Monday! Yeah - that sounds exhausting anyway to lose so much in 4 days. I'll keep the exhaustion if this keeps up!

Birddog - I wonder the same? Pedialite is the only solution I know of?! he he! I'd megadose on some vitamins but then I'd never go to the bathroom!

Oh well - Day 5, no cheats so far, good losses..... Anyway - I'm sure when I quit having to drag around all this lard I DEFINITELY won't be so tired!

(I have about 100 pounds to lose. I have a 2 year old who weighs 25 pounds. He is WOW HEAVY to carry around for even 15 minutes. So I can't imagine what I'm doing to my body!)

            Thanks for your replies!

              Re: Day 4 - I'm exhausted!?!

              Hi!

I'm on day 2 of induction and so far i seem to be fine with regard to energy levels - however i'm always being accused of being hyperactive so maybe i'll end up being 'normal' whilst on Atkins Which my wife and work colleagues will be happy with

Please don't give up on it - as now that i know you are 'human' and finding it tough - when i reach that stage in two days time i'll be thinking 'Well, Kacey is struggling and feeling lathargic and she hasn't given up - so I CAN'T EITHER!!'

Hang in there Kacey - i'm sure your energy will pick up soon!

Hi - THANKS for that! I'm hoping for an ENERGETIC Day 6! There are some great lines out there... and the one you reminded me of is:

I want to be an inspiration!

There are so many of the people that are - so here's hoping we can keep going together and be inspirations for each other and everyone else!

Glad no headaches. Electrolytes can be purchased as supplements, or you can get them from foods. The trace minerals and salts in fish, shellfish and seaweed are good, or you may be able to find a sugar free sports drink with them.
I sipped bouillion broth, to which I added a pinch of epsom salt (magnesium) and a pinch of aquarium salt (artificial seawater). The object is not to just add regular salt (NaCl) because it is the balance of salts that's so important.

Thanks, boonie. I actually found a post you made about the artificial sea salt last night after I posted on this thread. I think I even have some of it left from my SW aquarium days!
